Stepping into Seven Dials Market with the family already sets the stage for a great, communal meal, and Los Gordos is perfectly positioned for shared delights. We were five hungry reviewers, and we wisely settled on the Dirty Nachosâthe perfect centerpiece for a bustling market lunch. Opting for the rich, beer-braised brisket, we eagerly awaited the mountain of food. The nachos arrived as a veritable feast. The portion size was genuinely impressive, easily enough for five of us to dig into without feeling shortchanged. The base was a generous layer of crispy corn tortillas, but the stars were the toppings. The brisket was succulent and fall-apart tender, providing a smoky, savory counterpoint to the creamy nacho cheese sauce. Every scoop was loaded with fresh, bright guacamole, a zesty pico de gallo, and just the right pop of heat from the jalapeños and crispy onions. What makes Los Gordosâ Nachos a winner is the perfect balance: itâs hearty comfort food that still tastes incredibly fresh. It wasn't just a snack; it was a collaborative culinary adventure for the whole family, forcing everyone to lean in and share the joy (and sometimes fight for the best bits of brisket!). Los Gordos is highly recommended for any group looking for a generous, flavour-packed shareable that delivers on taste...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Los Gordos. I ordered the plantain burrito, but the service was slow and disorganized. After waiting a few minutes and getting my buzzer, I went to pick up what I thought was my order, but they had given me someone else's food by mistake.
I then had to wait again, despite being told I would be next. I watched many other people who ordered after me get their food while I continued to wait. After about 10 more minutes, I asked again about my order. They finally gave it to me, and it seemed like it had been sitting there for a while.
The worst part was the food itself. The so-called "plantain burrito" was completely misleading - it should have been called a rice burrito instead. 90% of the filling was just rice, with barely any plantain. The flavor was bland and the texture was mushy. It was honestly one of the most awful burritos I've ever had.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with both the poor service and low quality food . With so many issues, from the ordering process to the inaccurate menu descriptions to the terrible end product, I cannot recommend this place at all. Spare yourself the trouble and find a better...
Read moreI had the most disgusting plantain burrito here today. Everything was awful from the rude staff to the very dirty table that I had to spray with my own water bottle and clean the stuck on food off of myself before my children and I sat down. During the time we were there not once did a member of staff come round to clean up. Upon collecting my food I pointed out that there were no forks and the staff member rudely said that she had asked for some to be brought up. There was no âIâm sorry about that Iâll bring you one when they arrive.â The staff all seemed to be untrained students with zero customer service skills. This includes the cooks, my burrito really was disgusting, over sweet, dry crunchy rice, full of very spicy jalapeños that I wasnât asked if I wanted or not and a very thin, almost non existent layer of guacamole. The pink onions were also over sweet and cut way too thick. If youâre looking for good Mexican food in the area go to Wahaca or cheap and cheerful Chipotle. This...
