Not a bad place, but I believe the owner isn’t the greatest. She walks around telling people they can’t have their jackets on simply because she doesn’t like it and prefers everyone to leave their stuff on the hangers. She annoyed me two or three times about the jacket situation even after I told her I was keeping it on to relax. I spoke to various staff members, and they honestly don’t care about jackets either. They even mentioned that this woman is annoying as hell and won’t stop until people put their jackets away. They couldn’t care less about it, but because it bothers her, we all have to comply. That’s the first issue.
Secondly, the place is called Mezcalito — mezcal — and it’s also labeled a tequila bar right at the entrance. If you’re looking for your basic UK-style drinking spot, it’s perfect for you. The prices are ridiculously high for basic things, so it fits that vibe. But it’s supposed to have a Mexican style to it. Sure, they have the Catrina and some themed drawings, but there’s no Mexican music at all.
Honestly, you might like it, but the owner is extremely annoying. The staff knows it, her husband probably knows it, and it’s just disappointing and frustrating to have someone bothering people constantly about wearing jackets. If it bothers her that much, then make it an actual policy at the entrance: “Jackets must be hung up.” Don’t tell people there’s a free coat room at the back and then harass them when they choose not to use it. BASIC HOSPITALITY.
That’s why I give this rating. The staff — the waiters, security, everyone — are amazing. The only issue here is the owner.
Sure, it’s her place and she can do whatever she wants, but just FYI — that attitude is exactly why she won’t get far in life. That’s why she owns a tiny place and tries to control everything and everyone. Maybe she makes a couple of bucks, but with that attitude, that’s all she’ll ever be and all she’ll ever make. 😊
Honestly one of my most in depth review I have...

Read moreThis is a review concerning the safety of women, especially Asian women, in this venue.
One year ago, I experienced a very troubling incident involving someone closely connected to this place and its regulars. Before I reported it to the police, the only person I confided in, who later revealed she was his fwb, discouraged me from reporting it, and my concerns were dismissed. When the police tried to obtain CCTV footage from here, the manager was “on holiday.” After he returned, he claimed there were technical issues, and by the time access was restored, the footage had been lost. What added to my unease was that the individual involved appeared very familiar with the staff and manager, which was why I didn’t dare to seek help from them that night.
What troubles me most is that a few days ago, despite cutting all contact, I was suddenly approached again on the exact one-year mark of the incident. This is why I am writing this review: I strongly believe others may be at risk. These consistent unwanted contacts have caused me further distress and have prevented me from returning here for peace of mind, as I would likely bump into the related individuals. Two months after the incident, I informed the venue owner of what happened. I am not accusing him of helping the individual, as I do not know whether they have any relationship. I only truly hope no one else has...
