unfortunately, our experience with the food was quite disappointing. The grill was served cold, with a taste and texture that left much to be desired. It lacked the freshness one would expect from a freshly grilled dish, feeling more like it had been pulled from storage and reheated. The meat was both dry and soggy, resulting in a sensation that could only be described as chewing on plastic with some herbs sprinkled on top. Additionally, the presentation of the plate did not match the price point of £19; it resembled more of a cafeteria canteen than a proper dining experience. The shawarma was also served cold, which significantly affected its quality. The lentil soup was another letdown, as it was served without the usual lemon wedge and completely lacked seasoning. With no salt or pepper provided, the flavor was quite bland. Overall, our experience with the food was a 3 out of 10. The only redeeming aspect was the waiter, who was exceptionally hospitable, respectful, and mindful throughout our visit. His courteous demeanor stood in stark contrast to the subpar food experience 💜 I can’t help but wonder if the restaurant should have been open at the time of our visit, which was late on a Sunday night. The quality of the food was far below what is acceptable for any restaurant, especially one charging these prices. It was, regrettably, a very unpleasant dining experience.

We went to this place because of high ratings and it also seemed quiet (there was only one other busy table at that time) so we assumed we’d be able to get good service. We were quickly seated with a smile and handed over the menus. All good so far. Along with the usual appetisers, we wanted to go for the full chicken option, but they said it wasn’t available. We could go for a mixed grill platter instead. No big deal. But that’s where the service came to almost a halt. After about half an hour of wait and zero updates, we were wondering why they couldn’t even serve muttabal and hummus (things that are usually presented within minutes of placing an order). They finally served the appetisers with cold pita bread. Mutabbal was very good (reason why they are getting an additional star), but apart from that the menu was lacklustre. I took one bite of the kafta and it was just… not good. Mixed platter is also extremely overpriced for the quantity that they serve but add in the tough chicken and bad kafta and it just felt like a daylight robbery. Maybe a bad day? It happens. But then at least don’t add a 12% service charge after making us wait an hour for cold appetisers and a subpar main? Not a big ask, really. I’d recommend going for muttabal and muttabal alone, and on a day where you have no other agenda because it’ll probably take hours to even get that.

I was extremely impressed with this place. I had a very long day due to tube strikes getting a cross London to my hotel and arrived after the hotel restaurant closed. It was now rather late well after 2200 and I wanted to eat somewhere that wasn't a chain fast food, I walked and came across this place. They were open, not heaving but pleasantly occupied so not deathly silent. I asked if still doing food and assured they were doing full menu, and told to sit where I wanted. I looked at the menu and struggled to decided as there were so many things I wanted to try in the end not having eaten for 10 hours made me choose the whole chicken option. I was so glad I did, it tasted delicious and was juicy and not at all dry. It came with some salad and a portion of chips. I have to say I felt full once I finished it. It seemed a popular place for dates or people to meet each other and catch-up have a bit to eat, a drink or a shisha smoke. FYI a service charge seemed to be automatically added to your bill, it's not the most clear from the menu

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Believe the bad reviews about service. We should have walked straight out when they seemed to have little knowledge around allergens (which is breaking the law). Staff have no idea what they are doing - all errors are blamed on having 'new' staff or other staff members. Made us wait for 30 minutes after ordering, then when we asked when we might expect the food we were told that half of what we had ordered was out of stock! Why on earth were we not told that straight after ordering?! Staff were unapologetic, bordering on rude and to make it worse the place wasn't even busy, only two other tables in the entire place were occupied. We left without eating, but I suspect we would still be waiting for our food now if we had not spoken to them! I can't see this business lasting much longer.

To respond to the response.

We most definitely were at this place. We were staying across the road by the station as were down for an event.

The amount of meat/veg you sell is irrelevant, the fact is that what we ordered was out of stock at 5pm and no one thought to inform us or offer an alternative. We were just told that it was the other waitress who had taken our order and she had now left. Besides, I clearly said that half of WHAT WE HAD ORDERED was out of stock, not half of the food on the menu.

There was NO comprehensive document outlining allergens. Initially I thought the waitress did not speak good English as she had such a confused response to our query. There was no offer to look at a list, and she did not refer to any document/paperwork, in fact she ended up speaking to one of the chefs to confirm the dishes we were requesting were OK for us to eat, which confused us further when we discovered what we had ordered was not in stock as there was the opportunity to tell us then before we sat down.

It is disappointing that your response is defensive and deflecting, essentially suggesting that we are liars/mistaken and without...
