Pret A Manger — Restaurant in London

Good service, decent premises. The sandwich quality has certainly gone downhill - it's not the Pret I used to know. Ordered an (old favourite) Hoisin Duck wrap, the (New!) Chicken Katsu sandwich plus a bottle of still water. The duck wrap was disappointing -- its meat no longer tastes anything like a duck, just some mushy, bland pulp with scarcely any fibre. Extra sweet hoisin goo compensates for the lack of duck; The chicken katsu is a failed experiment -- fried chicken fillet is simply missing from the sandwich. One finds some odd onion flakes and a bunch of other ingredients that seemingly don't get on with each other and try to jump out of the sandwich as it's being eaten; A bottle of water was beyond reproach and worth an extra star. I took two sandwiches (Caesar chicken/bacon & Posh cheddar/pickle) from (a very busy) Pret's LHR T2 shop onto a long-haul flight recently, and those tasted fine. Excellent service by the team. However, the following points should be noted:

Their morning baguette sandwiches became substantially small in size - almost half of what it used to be a year ago eg. The price remained the same.

Very often I buy black Americano and pay £2.1 and get black filtered which costs £1. I am sure it is not intentional, but why not to pay a bit more attention? As I realise that in my office and I am unable to go back etc.*

*This happens regularly now! Four times out of six purchases! Come on guys, stop doing it!

Decent sized unit

Theyvserve usual pret food which as I have said in other reviews seems to be getting more and more predictable these days

Coffee was more froth than substance and expensive

The place can get busy

It's kept clean and tidy and has a toilet for customer use

There is outside seating in additional to lots inside and also there is a small green outside where you can sit and eat - good and popular in the summer

I prefer old fashioned sandwich bars lbut just my preference
