Recently had the opportunity to dine at Ranoush with my family and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. It's evident that the quality of their food has taken a nosedive, and to make matters worse, the prices have been jacked up to an unreasonable extent.

One of the most glaring examples of this decline in quality is the price of a simple can of coke, which now stands at a staggering £2.50 for a takeout. This exorbitant charge for a basic beverage is nothing short of a rip-off, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth before even diving into the meal itself. It's a clear indication that the management is prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, the overall quality of the food has significantly deteriorated. Dishes that were once known for their flavorful and authentic taste now seem lackluster and hastily prepared. The once vibrant and fresh ingredients have been replaced with a sense of mediocrity. It's disheartening to witness a restaurant that once offered a delightful culinary experience now fall short of expectations.

The combination of inflated prices and lackluster food has truly diminished the appeal of Ranoush. While I had fond memories of dining here in the past, this recent visit has left me...

Outrageous! My family and I have been regular customers since 1996. I have always been treated with the most respect and courtesy since. However, today it was outrageous, the man at the till with the glasses ignored me and went to the phone having a long conversation while I was waiting to order and I was the only one standing. I was approached by the younger guy who was preparing the sandwiches and he was very apologetic for the behaviour of his eldery colleague blaming it on his eyesight. I was grateful and followed him to the front of the shop as he asked. He asked for my order, went on asking me where I am from originally and in a sleazy way he was asking me personal questions. I ignored the silly behaviour and was waiting patiently for the food. I was asked to ho back to the till to pay, where I was treated the same. I managed to pay as if I was pulling teeth and went back to pick the food. This tome he asked me to wait a bot longer while he was serving others! My food was ready but he wanted to chat! Disrespectful and out of order. I have never ever ever been treated this way since 1996! Owners something is wrong and you should attend to it. As far as I am concerned and all my family this is the last time we buy/visit/eat......

Thinking it will still be a fabulous, cheery, busy, value-for-money shawarma and juice hang-out, I was really let down. I guess a lot of years have passed since 2006 and this place is now suffering from temperamental staff, couldn’t-give-a-toss attitude, sad surroundings, and less than mediocre food.

I took my niece, visiting from Miami, for a treat but regretted it totally. The young man at the till took an incorrect order and the chef at the grill looked scarily annoyed at the idea of correcting the order. Which was easy, as all he had to do was NOT make a falafel wrap.

I paid £34 for a chicken wrap, a falafel wrap, one open plate of a medley of mixed shawarma with humous, a bit of salad and a couple of tiny stuffed vine leaves, 2 bottles of water. The wraps were small and not the hefty rockets that other, less famous shawarma places serve. The falafels were pre-fried, hard and flavourless. Only the humous could be said to be tasty.

We would have liked fresh juice but didn’t opt for this as these were pre-juiced, lined up in plastic bottles in a fridge.

Overall a has-been place with disinterested, staff who seem to prefer to intimidate customers. Save yourself the...

After a long night of poker at the Vic, I often look forward to a Shawarma from Helen’s. A friend recommended this place, so thought we’d try it. We ordered 3 Chicken Shawarmas, and I asked the guy preparing the wraps to leave out the chilli sauce for mine. He replied “no problem” then asked if the other 2 wraps wanted chilli, my friend said yes. Upon giving us the 3 wraps, I ask which is the one without chilli? He says “they all have chilli”, and I replied that I asked for mine without, and he said “no, you said chilli in all of them”. Again, I explained that I told him no chilli sauce in mine, literally 2 minutes ago, and he replied “not my problem”. Maybe that’s what he meant earlier when I asked for no chilli sauce… “not my problem” rather than “no problem”. Unprofessional and rude staff! I saw one of the chefs wiping sweat from his forehead and then gripping up a Pita with the same hand. The amount of chicken given was pitiful and it felt like I was eating a vegan wrap. Super oily, but I guess I saved some Carmex that night as I left the restaurant with greased up lips. Won’t be coming back. I’ll stick to Cafe Helen!

A small yet great place in the heart of Edgware Road. As soon as you walk towards the place, you get the build up as locals are enjoying similar foods and hookahs in the area. When you enter towards the right you get that good wiff of the meats rolling around. Only to have to abandon them to walk down to the end to order. - You place your order with friendly staff, they give you a ticket which you hand down to the cooks and they call your order when it’s done. The quantity of meat is acceptable and the taste is definitely there. I would suggest for everyone to ask for extra garlic sauce and maybe go slow on the chilli - unless you like it - it surely has a strong kick to it! All in all a great schwarma, juicy, flavourful and authentic.

Food is not bad, not great. Let’s say acceptable if you are hungry, but service.... another world of its own... how can I explain You pay your food upfront (like in a Mc Donald but quite more expensive) and once you have paid, the person at the till gives you a ticket you have to bring to the cook!!! And the cook is right near the guy who issued your ticket. While you are moving from one side of the counter to the other, be sure you know how to skate on the greasy floor. I didn’t notice right away until I had to walk in front of the counter... well, unless you are really hungry you can do better... Burger King may be?
