Recently had the opportunity to dine at Ranoush with my family and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. It's evident that the quality of their food has taken a nosedive, and to make matters worse, the prices have been jacked up to an unreasonable extent.
One of the most glaring examples of this decline in quality is the price of a simple can of coke, which now stands at a staggering £2.50 for a takeout. This exorbitant charge for a basic beverage is nothing short of a rip-off, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth before even diving into the meal itself. It's a clear indication that the management is prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, the overall quality of the food has significantly deteriorated. Dishes that were once known for their flavorful and authentic taste now seem lackluster and hastily prepared. The once vibrant and fresh ingredients have been replaced with a sense of mediocrity. It's disheartening to witness a restaurant that once offered a delightful culinary experience now fall short of expectations.
The combination of inflated prices and lackluster food has truly diminished the appeal of Ranoush. While I had fond memories of dining here in the past, this recent visit has left me...
Read moreOutrageous! My family and I have been regular customers since 1996. I have always been treated with the most respect and courtesy since. However, today it was outrageous, the man at the till with the glasses ignored me and went to the phone having a long conversation while I was waiting to order and I was the only one standing. I was approached by the younger guy who was preparing the sandwiches and he was very apologetic for the behaviour of his eldery colleague blaming it on his eyesight. I was grateful and followed him to the front of the shop as he asked. He asked for my order, went on asking me where I am from originally and in a sleazy way he was asking me personal questions. I ignored the silly behaviour and was waiting patiently for the food. I was asked to ho back to the till to pay, where I was treated the same. I managed to pay as if I was pulling teeth and went back to pick the food. This tome he asked me to wait a bot longer while he was serving others! My food was ready but he wanted to chat! Disrespectful and out of order. I have never ever ever been treated this way since 1996! Owners something is wrong and you should attend to it. As far as I am concerned and all my family this is the last time we buy/visit/eat......
Read moreThinking it will still be a fabulous, cheery, busy, value-for-money shawarma and juice hang-out, I was really let down. I guess a lot of years have passed since 2006 and this place is now suffering from temperamental staff, couldn’t-give-a-toss attitude, sad surroundings, and less than mediocre food.
I took my niece, visiting from Miami, for a treat but regretted it totally. The young man at the till took an incorrect order and the chef at the grill looked scarily annoyed at the idea of correcting the order. Which was easy, as all he had to do was NOT make a falafel wrap.
I paid £34 for a chicken wrap, a falafel wrap, one open plate of a medley of mixed shawarma with humous, a bit of salad and a couple of tiny stuffed vine leaves, 2 bottles of water. The wraps were small and not the hefty rockets that other, less famous shawarma places serve. The falafels were pre-fried, hard and flavourless. Only the humous could be said to be tasty.
We would have liked fresh juice but didn’t opt for this as these were pre-juiced, lined up in plastic bottles in a fridge.
Overall a has-been place with disinterested, staff who seem to prefer to intimidate customers. Save yourself the...
