I haven’t dined on Edgware Road for close to 8 years now. I was surprised to find almost all the good spots were permanently closed with the exception of Al Dar. I remember this restaurant as my go to for Soujok (Lebanese sausages). Al Dar remains that good spot to dine in, with comfy seating and excellent customer service. We ordered Shawarmas, Halloumi and fries - ending our meal with a good old Arab tea. I loved the Halloumi and the Shawarma was cooked to perfection with good flavors. The only issues (which is the reason for not awarding a full 5 stars) are the following; 1) Although the quality was good and the flavors too, the Shawama was however way too salty. I have been very thirsty since and haven’t been able to quench my thirst due to the level of salt. 2) I wish the meal had some proper salad accompanying the Shawarma as it only came with tonnes of raw onions and a slice of tomato. 3) Worst of all was the fact that the door is opened the entire time and there’s tonnes of people smoking outside the restaurant beside the entrance which brings in an awful lot of the cigarette smell filling the entire restaurant. For us non smokers, it’s quite off putting when you’re trying to eat. My clothes literally absolutely reek with the stench of cigarette smoke and there’s nothing I hate more. But other than this; all in all, it’s a decent place to dine with good, swift service and is certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I can’t believe how this only has 3 stars at the time of writing this review. There’s not many places I have gone to that I can honestly say that I am surprisingly surprised on how good it was and I happy to say this is one of them. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection for all the dishes and ye I tried all my parties food also and visa versa and I can say not one thing disappointed. Now admittedly it was very quiet when I went there was only one other table so they might of took extra care but like I said all the food including desert was outstanding from taste to presentation. The service was on point very friendly staff, they checked on us, very helpful when we needed something no hanging around for an hour to get service. Overall this was and is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to reviewed or not. Now if I’m being nit picky the only thing I would say is when we ordered a Coke it came in a can to pour into the glass ourselves would of been nice if already poured into the glass but again that’s being nit picky and to be honest I actually prefer in can because I know I’m getting an actual coke and not the syrup they pump through a dispenser. So yes go here try it for yourselves and I promise you won’t regret it and I’m looking forward to going back next time in London. Check out my Tripadvisor also @mobe87

My parents discovered this restaurant and invited us to try it out. Come to find out they loved it so much that they had breakfast lunch and dinner in the same restaurant! Well, the food speaks for itself. Everything is freshly made and very well seasoned literally you can’t go wrong picking anything of the grill menu. What I love the most is the juice selection which is definitely more expanded than other restaurants. Lastly, it is actually one of the few restaurants in the area that is family friendly able to accommodate large groups and the restaurant wasn’t full of hookah smoke but rather you are greeted by the owner who was very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend this restaurant! Check out some of the pictures of the food platters we ordered.

I have had the worst experience yesterday evening at 8.30pm. Me and my two friends went there for a shisha for the first time and there was 3 of us. The minute we sat down we ordered the shisha. It came very fast as we started smoking for 2 minutes the waited came and asked if we want ti order anything and at that point we said that we are fine for the moment. He got very irritated and said said “ what you are not gonna order” we replied that no not for the moment and that he can take the menu. He trew the menu on our table and shouted that we have to order a drink as it is the 3 of us with one shisha. I was shocked by his way of talking and agression towards us. I said very politley that we had to be informed about this when we sat down not now when we already got the shisha in front of us. He took the shisha away from my friends hand and said ok fine get out i asked if he can call the manager for me and he just showed me the way to go to the restaurant and he will be there. When i went the manager was saying at first that ohthats fine you can sit down enjoy the shisha after he came outside ti see which table we were in the waiter talked in arabic i believe and said i dont know what ( probably that its 2”3 of us) the manager told me order at least one dribk please ( keep in mind it was only 4 minutes we were there, and at one point we would have ordered something to drink) i explained him calmly that the problem is not ordering and its being pushed to order as we were not even told they have this restriction, everywhere you go there is the restriction for 4 people to order 2 shishas. During this conversation we reached our table the waited became very aggressive and pulled the shisha from my friends hand grabed the shisha with one hand and the other hand he pulled away the table. And said i am sorry Ahmed i can not, and went. I was shocked that something like this can happen. We were 3 girls being attached by a waiter thinking back for his aggressive behavior we could have called the police. There were many people around and all of them witnested what happened. The worst part was that at that point we were the only females and the whole thing just felt very disgusting that men can treat women like that in public. In just 5 minutes of being there. I really hope that the owner reads this and gets embarassed by his staff as no where in London you can get such poor service. We grabbed our stuff and walked out no one appologised and we just felt bad, ashamed fir being females in a arabic restaurant who wanted to...

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if i could. We had the worst experience at this restaurant ever. I have never been treated like this at any other place IN MY WHOLE LIFE. We were a group of eight people who had ordered a mixture of food. After some of us not receiving our food, we asked how long it will take for the rest of us to get their food. The waiter got angry and started shouting and then speaking in arabic to his colleagues towards the grill area. He then came back and said that the food that our friends had ordered, was no longer available. We asked why they didnt inform us earlier, so that they could order something different. The waiter got angry again and the manager came to our table and all of the sudden the "unavailable" food became available again. The food was cold and without any taste, but we just ate it without further complaints, as we didnt want any further verbal contact with them. The bill was given to us in the middle of our food as they were closing the tills. We started to pay our bill with cards and cash. The waiter went away without taking the last payment from us and then brought his manager, who started shouting at us that we haven't paid half of the bill. We calculated in front of him that there was only about less than £10 left, which one of our frineds stiop neeelded to pay, but he wasn't having it and was ignoring the cash payment and was asking us to sum up the card payments. Then he realised that they have made a mistake or tyat they wont get any extra cash from us ....and blamed his waiter of not informing him of the cash payment, although he was holding the cash in his hand the whole time. This was the first and last time we went there and will tell our friends to avoid this place too. Worst customer service uave ever...

I recently had the pleasure of dining here that left me utterly amazed. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable experience.

The highlight of our visit was the shared platter we ordered. The food was an absolute masterpiece, a true symphony of flavors that transported us to the heart of Lebanon. Each dish on the platter was meticulously prepared, showcasing the rich and authentic Lebanese cuisine that this restaurant is rightfully proud of.

However, what truly elevated our evening was the impeccable service provided by our waiter, Muhammed Egyptian. His attention to detail, genuine enthusiasm, and knowledge about the dishes elevated our dining experience to new heights. Muhammed’s recommendations were spot-on, and his friendly demeanor made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire meal.

The combination of the delectable food and Muhammed’s exceptional service made this dining experience stand out as one of the best I’ve ever had. I cannot praise this restaurant enough for their commitment to delivering not only outstanding cuisine but also an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.

If you’re looking for a place that combines the finest Lebanese flavors with impeccable service, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Kudos to the chef and the entire team for creating such a remarkable culinary haven. I am already looking forward to my next visit to savor more of their delightful offerings.

In a nutshell, our evening at this Lebanese restaurant was a true celebration of flavors, thanks to the outstanding shared platter and the remarkable service provided by Muhammed Egyptian. It’s a dining experience that I will cherish and recommend...
