This is going to be a long one because this is personal to me in a really dumb way, so bear with me. I think this may be the longest review I've left.
Anyway, I used to work around Soho around 2019 and there was this place that used to sell gozleme from the front of their restaurant during lunch and this was my first experience with gozleme. I loved it.
I loved it so much that I would be eating this like 3 times a week. Unfortunately, the company I worked for moved to another part of the town and ever since then, every time I've come across gozleme I'd have one hoping it would taste the same. It never did.
The problem is I started off too strong with my gozleme game and nothing came close to it. The worst one I had was what they said was gozleme with sujuk, but it wasn't sujuk. It was sliced salami you'd get from a supermarket. And the chilli sauce? Your bog-standard chilli sauce in a bottle. I paid £9 for that. I know... but I was willing to pay that much, hoping it would come close to the gozleme from that shop in Soho. Others weren't as bad, but it was nowhere near as good and mostly just bland. By now I'd given up hope on gozleme and realised that the shop was the exception and not the rule.
I work around Liverpool Street now and was out during lunch doing what I usually do, walking around and looking around to see what I fancy and I notice a queue of people ahead coming out of a shop. I walk closer and see someone making gozleme. I get closer and notice that the woman making gozleme look familiar. It's the woman from the shop in Soho. It's been 5 years and just as I gave up hope, THE gozleme came back into my life.
I joined the queue and took about 5 to 10 mins before being served but it's worth it. It was worth it then, and it is worth it now. I got what was my usual. Mix and Match Gozleme which had chicken, potato, spinach, and feta, and of course, the chilli sauce. £8.50. Decent price for this part of the town.
It still tastes great and man, finding this place has made my week. I only go into the office every 2 weeks, but from now on I don't have to think about what to have for lunch on office days ever again as I know I will be going to Rose's Kitchen...
Read moreWhile walking past this place, we noticed there was only one customer inside. The owner (I assumed) enthusiastically called out to us, saying, “I know you guys are hungry! Come in and try some amazing food.” Without hesitation, we decided to give it a try—and it was absolutely worth it. The food was incredible, and the service was even better. She made us feel right at home and even treated us to a free salad, which was also delicious.
We ordered the Chicken Halloumi Wrap with everything on it, and it was phenomenal! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the spice level added just the right kick. I’ll definitely be visiting this place again—it’s...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious! This parade isn’t far from my work so recently I’ve been trying out the eateries along it for lunch. I was looking at the place next door as being next to try except that they were handing out tasters outside Rose’s Kitchen. That one bite was enough to lure me in. Had the gozleme but all the salads looked very enticing too. I have been moved to write this review, which is not something I do very often. Consider this a measure of how good it was and how much I want them to be found and enjoyed.
I shall definitely go back and I will drag my...
