All was going well but it had to end this way!
I was a regular customer with TIFINBOX even though it is roughly 15 minutes of brisk walk away. Last week went to the same to order take away with couple of my colleagues (Told them how good they are). We ordered two non-veg tifin boxes and one Butter Paneer. Food was delivered on time and left the place happily. Reached office and started eating my food to realise that the Butter panner is actually Butter Chicken. I am a vegetarian and not even eat egg. I felt really really bad to have eaten chicken. It is a feeling that I cant describe as well. I immediately checked the receipt and it was was rightly written as butter paneer and not butter chicken.
I left the food to throw in the bin and to go and pick something else from nearby shops. My colleagues suggested me to go back and tell them and my reply was, it was a mistake. They will say sorry and thats it. lets not stretch this. They are busy during lunch time and must have not read the order properly. I did not go back and return but gave them a call to inform that this has happened. The number of the shop is on the receipt. When I called the immediate response from the other side was 'Sorry'. They also mentioned to bring back the box to replace the same with veg food. I said my office is not near and I already have spent more than 40 min of my break so thats alright.
I did not go to that place for few days but last Friday I thought to go there again. I took one of my friend with me. We reached the shop and ordered the food to have in there itself. The guy at till was making the bill and we were about to pay the money. I simply told the other guy that last time what happened with me. I was shocked with his rude reply that, 'he works at till and not packaging'. I told him that i am not pin pointing you, it is more about tifinbox as a whole. In the meantime the other guy came in and said no we did not give you Chicken instead of Paneer. At that time I was pis... of and I said that I am not lying and not here for free lunch in return but to tell you about your mistake. Instead of acknowledging their mistake they started arguing with me. I got very annoyed and left the place without any food. and I am not going back there for sure!!!
I wish I could have an option to use NO STAR for their...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of working on the food truck of "Tiffin Box" in downtown London. While I was engrossed in fixing the rear indicators, the owner, in an admirable gesture of hospitality, offered me a complimentary lunch. Nostalgically, I chose the Aloo Paratha, a dish close to my heart and reminiscent of home. The presentation was impeccable, complete with a generous serving of sauces, complimentary chickpea curry, and two delightful chutneys. Every bite was a journey back to my mom's kitchen. The flavors were authentic, rich, and I found myself savoring every morsel, even licking my fingers clean! It's been a challenge to find authentic desi food in London, but "Tiffin Box" stands out as one of the best. Highly recommend for anyone craving a touch of home and warm hospitality.
The ambiance was reminiscent of old-school Bollywood cafes, exuding a vintage charm that's hard to come by these days. Everywhere I looked, there were subtle nods to classic cinema, and it felt like I was taking a stroll down memory lane in the heart of Bollywood's golden age. Not only was the décor spot on, but the restaurant also championed cleanliness. Every corner was neat, tidy, and maintained with the utmost hygiene. It was clear that the owners took great pride in their establishment, ensuring both a delightful gastronomic and atmospheric experience for...
Read moreThis place is great for quick titbit and located pretty much in central London near Coventry University London campus. You'll have various snacks and meal options if you are craving some nice Indian food. The best dishes on their menu are samosa chaat, bhel, papdi chaat, cheese paratha, aloo paratha, pav bhaji, chole bhature, masala omelet, Mumbai sandwich and biryani. Nowadays, they have added dosa, idli, and dhokla to their menu. They are pretty fast when you order, and the takeaway option is also available. You must not leave without having masala chai if you are a chai lover since that's the best Indian chai I found in London. They treat you with 2 complementary Parle G biscuits with chai. You can also try their mango lassi and nimbu pani which I loved the most, too. They also sell some packed Indian snacks and chai patti if you're looking for some Indian stuff that isn't available in...
