Overall experience was very disappointing. Came with my partner to have a lunch. Were greeted by lady, who was supervisor I assume as didn’t have uniform as waiters. She took the order. We’ve ordered starter and mains. After we were done with starters, spent around 15-20 min waiting for main and had to call for waiter to clarify how long is to wait for mains. He approached us saying that someone closed our tab, he has no clue who, and asked what we ordered. We repeated order although it wasn’t pleasant moment as no one even came to clarify if we were expecting more food . Waiter promised that pasta will be ready in 5 mins. However it took up to 15 minutes to be served. Plus, my order came incorrect, which means both of us had to wait again. Finally my main dish arrived 15 minutes after , which means food of my partner was cold as he didn’t want to eat while I would wait . And all this time place wasn’t even stuffed with guests, were 4 tables in there! I’ve ordered Cacio e Pepe and it tasted quite dry, so fish I’ve been waiting for didn’t even worth it 🤦‍♀️ My partner also ordered gnocchi with Nutella. Portions were quite small as well although prices are not low. After we’ve asked for the bill , it came with wrong balance due, was showing much less money we should pay. We call again for waiter asking to adjust the bill . After another 7 minutes supervisor came with card machine and right bill asking how was the experience. When we shared all issues we’ve had she amazingly said that had no clue about that. That means there is no communication between the team at all and no one even cares about guests experience. I’ve asked to remove service charge as service wasn’t provided at all. Supervisor asked why do I want to do remove it and I had to explain again that I don’t want to pay for the service which I did get provided. Her reply was : “ Okay, got it”. No apologies, not even a small discount or cup of coffee offered to compensate a bit guest experience. So there we go: had to spend around couple of hours because of the several issues within the team , food wasn’t even delicious to recover it , portions are quite small and prices are not cheap at all. I’ve been working in hospitality for 10 years and this case of experience is one of the worst. Definitely won’t come again. Definitely won’t recommend any of our friends or guests as working in a big...

The evening meal a group of 6 of us had here was probably the worst dining experience we have ever had. The food and the service was poor on all accounts.

I will caveat this review that this was the evening before the London marathon so undoubtedly was a busier time than normal. There appeared to be one chef and very few waitresses. Surely they could have planned in advance to have more staff on? The restaurant management should have started turning customers away as they CLEARLY couldn't handle it.

Some of the starters came and we waited 5 minutes before asking where the rest were. 5 minutes later the waitress came back and said they didn't have what we had ordered on the menu. That might have been helpful to share before everyone else was sat with their starters going cold and having to chase for the rest? Then the fiasco with the mains happened. There was a ridiculously long wait for what were basic bowls of pasta that all looked the same to come out. Mine was stone cold. They said they would heat it up. They took it and microwaved the bowl with a whole cold burratta on top which is just ridiculous and it still came back cold. The other dishes had dried up and were cold from clearly being sat on the counter too long. My partner's meal came out about 15 minutes after everyone else's and even then they got his order wrong.

The waitress slammed the bill on the table when we asked for it. The table next to us were just as unhappy and all their mains were taken off the bill. We asked for the same. We paid for our starters and drinks whilst receiving the silent treatment from the waitress. Not once were we rude as it wasn't her fault. There was no apology for the wait or the poor food. I understand it must have been a hard evening, but that wasn't at the fault of the customers.

I also threw up my main meal in the restaurant loos...which by the way, were also disgusting.

I think they were also doing take out orders at the expense of in restaurant diners. Again, management should have stopped this and realised that they didn't have the capacity.

Stay clear from this restaurant. Nothing about it was authentic or welcoming. I feel sorry...

Gave 1 star because is not possible to rate 0. The service received in this restaurant I've never experienced it anywhere else. Started with the waiter allowing us to seat on a table without set up, did not bring a second menu and only came to ask after seeing we were struggling to read in 2 on 1 menu. Placed our order, arrives the starter and so far all good. We were with starter after 5 minutes and when was almost 1 hour from our order the main still didn't arrive and nobody would approach us even though was obvious that we were waiting. When we call the waiter to ask, he comes to the table and says "I can see you've been waiting for long time, your table has been closed in the system, I don't know why" well we didn't know either, then he took again our mains order. More time past and finally he arrives with the 2 mains and only at the table he realized that 1 is wrong therefore he dropped 1 main and went back with the other. 8 minutes later finally comes with the 2nd main but meanwhile mine was already cold as I wouldn't eat and make my partner watch me eating. After eating, we order dessert which takes another 20 minutes to arrive and when finally is time for the bill, they bring it with many mistakes so the waiter goes back and then brings the correct bill. After mentioning all the above to a lady we believed was a supervisor, and asked to remove service charge, she didn't take any further action to make up for all the mistakes and simply placed on POS machine the amount without service charge. P. S. A couple behind us also had to wait longer for the mains but at least the waiter was kind enough to offer something on the house while they were waiting, and to us?! Nobody...

I booked this restaurant for my birthday, this was my first visit sadly. Upon arrival I had to wait for the table to be cleared despite being on time, no problem. When seated, I made the waitress aware we were waiting for two more guests and were provided with the menu. The waitress never asked for drinks whilst we waited. My remaining guests arrived 15 mins later. Thereafter not one member of staff addressed our table for drinks or food. We witnessed two couples seated nearby who both arrived after us being served with drinks and starters. I was disappointed with the lack of service. An hour had now passed. I hailed the waitress and expressed my disappointment which was met with dismissive responses and attitude. I asked to speak with the manager as I was genuinely shocked, who eventually came and apologised, offering complimentary cocktails. Despite his goodwill the damage had been done that there was no way I could enjoy my birthday meal as planned. We made reservations elsewhere and gladly left to which none of the staff acknowledged to even to say goodbye as we left, which spoke volumes. CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE KEY!!! UPDATE!! We were contacted by Scarpetta. Although we truly expected nothing from our initial experience. Looking back, I’m glad contact was made to revisit which was complimentary. This restored my faith in customer service and Scarpetta! Pattrick the co owner made himself available which we appreciated. We spoke to Pattrick who sincerely apologised and explained a number of factors that contributed towards the service we initially received. Scarpetta, thank you for inviting us back, for the lovely food, drinks and service! See you all again soon!

Upon entering Scarpetta, we were greeted by a well-decorated interior and quick, pleasant service—a promising start to our dining experience. However, as we delved into our meal, our excitement waned. Opting for the Nduja burrata as a starter, we found the dish to be flavorful but ultimately lacking in completeness. Presented as pre-spread portions of burrata rather than the anticipated whole ball, we missed the joy of breaking open the creamy center ourselves. Moving on to our pasta dishes—an Nduja pasta and an aubergine pasta—we were met with mixed results. While the sauces were rich and bursting with flavor, the pasta itself fell short of expectations. Despite the promise of freshly made pasta advertised on the door, we found the pasta to be disappointingly old and rubbery, lacking the desired al dente texture. Additionally, a touch of freshness, such as basil, would have elevated the overall experience. Furthermore, our disappointment was compounded by the unavailability of the house red wine, a frustrating oversight for a Friday evening dining experience. In summary, our visit to Scarpetta left us with mixed feelings. While the restaurant offers a convenient option for a quick, satisfying meal after a long day at work, the overall experience failed to meet our expectations. As such, we award Scarpetta a rating of 3/5—a respectable choice for a convenient meal but ultimately lacking the special touch that sets it apart from other dining options in Canary Wharf.

Decent Italian Spot with Room for Improvement We had dinner here on a Wednesday night, and while the experience was overall okay, it felt like something was missing. The service was fine—servers were friendly and happy to recommend dishes, but we weren’t given water, which is a basic expectation. We ordered three starters (see pictures) and two pasta mains. The pasta was delicious, well-priced, and definitely the highlight of the meal, though the menu had fewer options than expected. Sometimes, less is more, but a bit more variety would have been nice. The drinks menu was somewhat limited—there was a good wine selection, but only a few beer choices. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. However, the space isn’t wheelchair or stroller-friendly due to the steps, which could be a downside for some diners. One issue was that we were mistakenly charged for an item we didn’t order, though the staff did make up for it by offering a small takeaway tiramisu. Given its prime location in the heart of Canary Wharf, this place has the potential to be a top Italian dining spot. With a few tweaks—better accessibility, more menu variety, and attention to small service details—it could truly stand out.
