WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN
I had booked a table at the barge last night to celebrate my birthday with a group of 12 people. I am afraid my experience there was completely ruined by one of your staff, Niklas. He was tremendously rude to everyone throughout the night, it felt like he was angry at customers, to be honest. The service at the bar by him was horrible, he would look at the people with his hands in his pocket like he was doing thema favor. Later on in the evening, he went to tell my friends that the deck was closed and they could not smoke there anymore, which they could have not known, when I went outside to join them they absolutely shocked from his behaviour and they way they had been kicked off the deck, he didn't even give them time to finish their cigarette, he just stood there staring at them. And again, towards the kitchen was long closed on of my friends ordered a bit of food, which is something that most pubs allow. Instead of telling my friend this was not allowed he waited until we all stepped away from the table to sneak the food away and toss it in the bin, when I asked about it he say "you are not allowed food here and it's gone now", again looking at me like I had run over his dog or something, I don't really see the issue in having food in a pub that is not providing the service anymore, especially co considering the kitchen closed quite early and I spent roughly £500 on pizzas and drinks already, but he could have told my friend and he would have eaten his food outside obviously. I am really sorry about this long email, but there was more. At the end of the night when he tried to kick us off the boat he said we had 5 minutes to finish our drinks which were about done anyway and I told him we were nearly done anyway but I thought the place closed at 1 am, she said there was no fixed closing time on this location, they close when they are ready. After not even 5 minutes he came again to rush us out at, again in the rudest manner possible, at which my friend pointed out how rude he had been all night and if he could please stop being so impolite to everyone, he did not even pretend to care. We left and when my friend thanked the ladies at the bar he mumbled something after her, everyone heard this. I am absolutely shocked by this experience, which has completely ruined the night for everyone and it was not just us he spoke like this to, I saw him address other customersthroughout the night this way, for no obvious reasons. Although the ladies behind the bar were lovely and location was beautiful, I do not feel I can recommend this place, it has horrible.
Apologies for...
Read moreI enjoy frequenting comedy clubs and this is the first time I've ever been to a show where I don't think I laughed at all. It was almost surreal how bad it is was. The vibes were terrible and super weird and I felt like the show tried far too hard to be edgy and when people didn't laugh they were accused of being uptight but it was simply that the jokes weren't funny at all - the comedy was no "darker" than your typical comedy show, in fact I found it was tamer than most. The jokes seemed to be targeted at the Facebook boomer audience.
I also felt like the venue setup was super unsafe particularly in the case of an emergency (e.g. fire) as it was super packed and people could hardly move on the lower deck of the barge where the show was hosted.
I also really didn't like that people were bribed at the end with free tickets if they left a good review.
They also messed up and sold tickets to a Wednesday show that simply didn't exist and only informed me of this a few hours before the show.
The positives: The pizza was decent and I feel like the place has lots of potential if they reduced the capacity (or perhaps allowed seating upstairs with tvs?), gave safety briefings (which has been common in a lot of small comedy venues I've been to), and if they changed the acts and content up and didn't try so hard at being edgy
Edit: it would be great if Rum Monkey actually did take the feedback on board as when I left my review on their page they didn't take the feedback well and responded "let me know if you find a comedy show that does a safety briefings beforehand, I bet...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending a comedy show at a boat bar and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed and had a wonderful time. The venue was hired out by a comedy club for the event, and I couldn't have asked for a better setting. The moment I stepped on board, I was greeted by the most lovely and helpful staff. They made sure that everyone was taken care of and their friendly demeanor added to the already pleasant atmosphere.
The first thing that caught my eye as I made my way to the bar was the well-stocked bar with a wide variety of drinks to choose from. Being a cocktail lover, I was pleasantly surprised by the diverse cocktail menu and decided to try out a few. To say that they were delicious would be an understatement. The bartenders were skilled and prepared the drinks with perfection. It was evident that they took pride in their craft.
Throughout the night, the staff continued to provide excellent service, making sure that I had everything I needed. The boat bar itself was beautiful and had a great view of the surrounding water. The combination of good drinks, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere made for a perfect evening.
I would highly recommend attending events at this boat bar. It has everything you need for a great night out - good drinks, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. I cannot wait to visit again and experience the same level of hospitality. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I look forward to...
