RUDE EMPLOYEE - Disappointed with the attitude of the employee at this store in oxford street as I am a regular customer at wok to walk. Honestly some people are racist towards their own people. I was at this place today and when I entered it was only one couple in front of me ordering. I stood to the side thinking to order after them while they took forever. The hero of the story is the guy on the till ( for ref of owner the guy at the till on 01st october approx 9.30pm). He sees me while I wait for this couple to finish order. I move to the order kiosk while this couple finishes and behind me is another queue (which formed out of now where) these people arrived after i arrived while I am about to order the guy at the till says those people were first. Like really? Anyways the lady behind me says they were first (along with some looks as if I cut the queue)so totally confused i move further backwards and wait for others to finish their order. I am slightly confused so I stay on the queue to order and while I was about to order I asked the guy at the till why he didnt tell me that the queue was behind and he says clearly knowing I was first that he didnt know I was waiting to order just because I was on the side he says he thought I wasnt there to order - no one stands there for 10 minutes looking at the menu. Please note I wasnt even looking at the menu. Even if you thought so You cant tell people and guide them and say the queue is behind? That is literally going to take 2 seconds. Whats even funny is the arrogance - I am pretty sure he wouldnt do that to a non coloured person. I say this because the guy had a different attitude to the non coloured people. RACISM does come from coloured people after all. Would not recommend going there. If you have staff who will only be apologetic to certain people they should be noted. End of story. I work at a restaurant myself and I know better how to treat customers. You cant assume things. I am not stupid enough to stand there for 10 minutes waiting only to be treated badly by employees. Bcoz you ‘ASSUMED’ I was looking at the menu. No one stands there for 10 minutes looking at the menu. I didn’t end up ordering and he says if you want you order or else you can go. Should have checked reviews before I went to the branch as I can clearly see service is absolutely 👎Kindly take note of such employees.
EDIT in response to your reply : that is the whole point of this review. If a customer is misunderstood about the queue the person at the till should ask them if they would like to order and guide them to the direction of the q rather than assuming things and being rude. And I can assure you the lady who made sly remarks about me cutting the line came after me. Clearly it shows the incompetence of...
Read morePretty good concept of being able to personalise your dish and the food quality is good enough, but the only downside to the concept is that if you pick a sauce that you end up not liking it does kind of ruin the meal. I got the Bangkok sauce, a coconut curry and it turned out to be wayyyyy too sweet for me to the point that I couldnt finish, I’m a bit of a sweet tooth myself so this sauce being too sweet even for me is a testament to how overbearingly sweet it was. Any herby-spiceful-turmericy flavour you expect from a curry was drowned out by the sweetness. I could taste more of the coconut milk than I could the actual curry. Tried to tone down the sweetness with a bit of their chilli sauce packets but it just didn’t give. Granted coconut curry is usually on the sweeter side but this was overwhelmingly sweet. The sauce also smelled funky like feet which I assume was the fish sauce usually added to curry but it was still off putting, never smelled curry like that before. Whatever you do steer clear of that sauce. The food under the sauce was good though. Crispy vegetables, well-cooked rice and meat. The sauce was the killer. So if you manage to pick a decent sauce I’m sure your experience would be better than mine was. I also don’t know if it was possible to have tasted the sauce before ordering (kind of doubt it) which is also a downside. Probably won’t be headed back there any time soon due to the fact that there’s plenty of other asian-fusion-streetfood inspired places available in London that are far more impressive taste and price wise...

I had the worst experience at Wok to Walk recently, and as a regular customer who has enjoyed food from various branches, I never expected this. At around 3:30 AM, we ordered rice noodles with leek, mushroom, and spring onions—completely vegetarian. But what we received had beef in it.
As an Indian and a strict vegetarian, beef is completely off-limits—not just by choice, but out of deep religious respect. Unfortunately, we only realized it after taking a couple of bites. I was shocked and honestly felt sick. When I brought it up, an employee casually said, “It’s okay, it happens sometimes.” That kind of response is unacceptable and deeply insensitive.
Yes, they remade the dish as part of service recovery, and being from the hospitality industry myself, I understand how exhausting night shifts are. But that doesn’t excuse such a serious mistake. When you’re handling food, especially with dietary or religious restrictions, attention to detail is not optional—it’s essential.
This incident has left me upset and disheartened. I used to trust Wok to Walk, but this has truly shaken my confidence. I hope you seriously reflect on this and take steps to ensure such a careless mistake doesn't happen to anyone else. Also do not take actions on employee it's just you guys need to be careful with words and...
