Covid-19 Pandemic Second Wave (REVIEW)
Good local ?Turkish? Restaurant around Finchley area. I really like the decor as it is really inviting, makes you wonder what is special about this place. Well it is a kebab restaurant as that is their speciality.
We came inside and people sat social distant, it was kind of busy, however waitresses came and asked us if we were eating or taking away.
She said we could sit anywhere we wanted, we sat by the window, though it took them almost 5mins to come and provide us the menus. I think they probably were 2 people short staffed.
Pricing was good, medium priced and not very expensive. We were 3 individuals and instead of going for the £43 platter which serves 3-4 people, we decided to go for individual meals of mixed kebabs.
I would say I was slightly disappointed with the grilled chicken and grill beef, but the long kebab was more tasty out of them rest. Sorry I do not know the full name, they all say mixed kebab -__-
Drink prices were not too much, but still bottle small water cost £1.50, just to let you know. Waiting time was fine for our meal.
We got free starters that includes nice delicious bread of 6 slices, 4 different sauces that includes yogurt sauce, humus, spicy sauce and another white coloured sauce. Our starter also came with salad. The starter and drink were prepared on time and it took between 7-10mins I believe which was great.
Our main meal of kebabs included with rice came nice and laid out. I already highlighted my disappointment with the chicken and beef/lamb kebab, but the rice was very bland. Yes both the normal white rice and coloured rice were not too tasty.
The bread was more delicious to me than rest of the meal, I couldn't really eat much because I became full in no time. They provide takeaway box just in case you can't finish your meal which is a plus. I don't believe they charge for takeaway boxes.
Our meal came to £39, though we sat for 3 hrs and they didn't complain or kick us out, we also bought still water making our total bill £40.
My lemonade drink was nice but very sour, it tasted original but not sweet as I expected. If you order a sparking Perrir water, you will get it in a can rather than in a glass bottle.
Waitress/waiters were nice, they were very busy, but I found no rudeness in their speech or services.
Price point I would say this is a recommended restaurant, though I am on the fence for the taste. You would definitely get filled up based on the portion. 2 set meals alone is well enough to fully fill 2 hungry individuals. Don't forget you get free bread and sauces as starters.
As for the lay out and decorations, some areas of the restaurant do need fixing, but with this Pandemic that makes them lack customers, it would be harder to sort out window gap issues and wall issues.
I would recommend...
Read moreNever had such a insulting and humiliating dining experience ever!! Woody grill on Kilburn high road (the bigger one as there are 2 on the same road) It is not even worth 1 star!! I was out with my family , travelled 40 minutes and stood in a que for 30 mins to be seated (due to the eat out campaign) which me and my family did not mind.. but when we were sat and were asked for our order my 1 year old had tore thier menu which i didn’t notice as we were telling our order to the waitress.. she pointed it out to us and we said sorry. After saying sorry the waitress said to us in a very angry manner “please control your children” only because of the torn menu.. (we had 2 toddlers with us both under the age of 2 who were seated with us at all time). My sister in law asked for haloumi wrap, the waitress said that was finished, she then asked for cheesey chips which the waitress said that was finished aswell.. the guys with us ordered ribs, lamb chops and mixed kebab.. the waitress took our order and after 5 minutes came and said the lamb chops, ribs and kebab was out of stock which CLEARLY was not.. as all food could be seen cooking on the grill and there was plenty more uncooked meat seen.. ( not to forget we also asked for a high chair, which came to us dirty and sticky) and the waitress refused to clean it and said its clean. We asked how can everything be finished, she said it is.. the manager came and said the high chair is clean and “you can leave if you want to” We said we don’t want to eat from here as there is nothing left. We all stood up and started to leave, when we saw the food in the grill area we said to the manager why is there so much food here being cooked and for us everything that we asked for is out of stock. Which VERY CLEARLY was not.. as i could see all the particular meat which we wanted to order was there. (Also they were still accepting customers). The manager said you can sit down to eat or you can leave while standing next to the exit door.. humilating us infront of all the customers dining and the ones waiting to eat.. we complained to him about the waitress aswell she was in a very cold manner since we entered the restaurant.. never once the the manager or the waitress speak to us in a kind manner.. we were also willing to pay for the menu that was torn and they simply told us to leave.. on our way out the waitress said “why are you angry at me” by this point we were all fuming and we simply left.. never again going to such a rubbish and ill mannered restaurant!! I wish i had audio and video proof. Rubish restaurant, zero...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at this Turkish kebab spot. I ordered a combination of doner and rice, and the food was absolutely banging. The flavors were rich, the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful—everything came together beautifully. You can really taste the freshness in every bite, and it’s clear they use quality ingredients and take pride in their cooking.
What made the visit even better was the excellent service. The brother who served me was super friendly, welcoming, and very quick with the order. He had a great attitude, made sure everything was just right, and treated customers with genuine respect and kindness. That kind of warm, personal service adds so much to the dining experience and definitely makes a place more memorable.
The food is always fresh and consistently delicious, which is why I keep coming back. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or looking for a satisfying dinner, this place never disappoints. The portion sizes are generous, and the value for money is spot on. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a great meal.
I will always recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish kebabs and top-tier service. It’s become one of my go-to spots, and I’ve never had a bad experience here. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re definitely missing out. This is a hidden gem worth visiting...
