I was booked in for dinner at 17:15 in the Nottingham Pitcher & Piano. Upon arrival, there was noone at the welcome stand in the doorway, so we waited a couple of minutes to see if anyone would attend. No one came to the welcome stand so we went to the bar to say we had a reservation. The man behind the bar asked my name and advised our table was not quite ready so to wait at the bar and he would let us know when the table was ready. We waited at the bar with 2 drinks for over 25 minutes, which was now quite a bit past our booking time and had to approach a different member of staff behind the bar to see what was happening. This member of staff told us our table was ready and was just across from where we had been waiting over 25 minutes and it was always free from what we could see. We took ourselves to the table as the chap behind the bar pointed it out. Upon sitting ourselves at the table, I noticed it was not properly set, and was only set for 1 person as it only had 1 glass out. After a few minutes of being sat, we were approached by a male member of staff who asked us what our booking name was and advised we were sat at someone else’s table. At this point, I advised the waiter we had already been waiting a long time and been sent here by another member of staff at the bar and offered to move, to which the waiter said to stay at this current table. The waiter then went to see to another table nearby without taking our drinks order. After a few minutes more, we realised we were sat in a loud part of the restaurant next to a large table of around 10 women having a party. Due to the high noise level, we asked the waiter if we could move table to somewhere quieter as it was not a very peaceful setting and we could see plenty of other quieter locations. The waiter said we could not move and that the large party would be gone soon. Again, no drinks order was taken during this second interaction with him. The waiter then proceeded to serve drinks to the large party, which I was shocked at as he had just informed me they were leaving soon. I could see there was some kind of interaction at that table with the waiter and the ladies sat down, to which he stormed off back to the bar and slammed his drinks tray down aggressively. This was extremely unprofessional and made myself and my partner very uncomfortable. At this point, considering we had been waiting so long, been confused at every step and now uncomfortable, we decided to leave the restaurant as we did not feel like this was somewhere for a lovely meal and it ruined our experience. Upon leaving, we told the waiter our concerns and told him the experience we had was something we certainly didn’t expect from Pitcher & Piano. At this point, the waiter then offered to move us to a different table, which was even more confusing and insulting considering he said he couldn’t before. We left the restaurant feeling shocked, let down and uncomfortable. Based on this experience, we would never book or visit a Pitcher & Piano again. I believe you need to check CCTV from around 17:00 on 24/10/25 to see what our experience was and the behaviours...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend had spontaneously wanted to eat out Sunday evening and Pitcher and Piano had been suggested to us for the best luxurious restaurants in a unique setting appeared on google maps, and we were not disappointed whatsoever. Sophie was the waitress who looked after us throughout our duration at the converted church into a very fancy restaurant. She was very accommodating, and catered to our needs very professionally, and precisely too, she wasn’t overly attentive, just a super balance between being friendly with managing our expectations to a high quality! We would definitely be going back, for the selection of drinks they had at the bar was provided with an endless amount of tempting options! Everything was wonderful and the food was delicious even though they had limited options for the small plates due to having no available stock, however we had honoured that slight problem due to it being a Sunday as they were probably expecting more stock for the next commencing week. We were more than happy with our mains, it was so scrumptious, I had the buttermilk fried chicken burger which was so perfectly cooked, I was truly satisfied with the portion size, and how the chicken tender was similar to a Louisiana style! And my girlfriend had the pan fried sea bass which was a really impressive healthier option that was something out of the ordinary for my girlfriend to choose to have and she thoroughly enjoyed it! I have had numerous meals here before however their standards have definitely improved since last time I came which was more than a year ago! Thank you for the team at Pitcher and Piano making our experience memorable! I will be recommending to family and friends as well. Especially Sophie who deserves to be praised and is a great member of staff to...
Read moreThis was my third time coming here on 28.07.2025 and this time I brought my family who flew in from overseas to the UK. We were all really looking forward to it. We arrived at reception at 6:30pm and waited about 10 minutes but no one came to seat us. In the end, we went up to the bartender and were told we had to find our own table — just like a food court.
The table we found was dirty and hadn’t been cleared. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but there was only 1-2 waiter serving everyone. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to place our order for drinks( 2 beer,2 cocktail & 2 coke), 5 starters, and 4 mains course. After waiting 30 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks.
We asked the same waitress who took our order — she went into the kitchen, then came back and told us the kitchen had lost our order and we’d have to order again. She promised us a free drink as an apology, but in the end, we didn’t get anything at all. Meanwhile, people queuing at the bar got their drinks straight away, while we waited nearly 50 minutes for ours — it was really unacceptable. It wasn’t just our table waiting — the nearby customers were all waiting too.
Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived, followed by the mains, but they still missed one of our dishes. When we asked the waiter again, he told us to wait, but after another 10 minutes with nothing happening, we just paid and left. We originally planned to order dessert, but we gave up because we didn’t know how much longer we’d have to wait.
Honestly, it was a terrible experience. Despite the beautiful setting, the service was unbelievably bad. It completely wasted our precious time and ruined our evening. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons than ever come...
