Namaste Village Oxford – A True Taste of Gujarat We stumbled across Namaste Village in Oxford for lunch, and the experience was so good that we returned the very same day for dinner – and honestly, it was worth every bite! This is a pure vegetarian restaurant that captures the authentic flavours of Gujarat, with a menu that feels both homely and exciting. Starters & Small Plates The absolute standout has to be the chilli garlic lime Mogo. Without doubt, these are the best mogo chips we have ever had. Cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, soft yet firm inside, with just the right bite of texture – and then coated in an incredible marinade that balances tang, spice, and depth of flavour. Each bite is bold yet moreish, and it’s the dish we’ll be dreaming about until our next visit. Another winner was the Masala Puri. The best way to enjoy it? Pop the whole puri into your mouth, close your eyes, and let the flavours take over. The freshness, crunch, and vibrant filling create a moment of pure bliss. It’s fun, light, and bursting with flavour. Main Course With such an extensive menu, it’s hard to choose, but the Paneer Angara curry deserves a special mention. Rich, smoky, and full of flavour, it’s one of those curries that leaves you craving another spoonful. Paired with the tandori roti – thin, soft, and cooked perfectly – it made for a unique and memorable meal. Atmosphere & Service What elevates Namaste Village beyond just great food is the warmth of the service. Jemin, our waiter, was an absolute star. His knowledge and passion for the food shone through as he guided us with recommendations, ensuring we got the most authentic experience. He checked in on us just the right amount, making us feel at home and adding to the overall charm of the place. Final Thoughts Namaste Village is a gem in Oxford. It manages to capture the essence of Gujarati vegetarian cooking – comforting, flavour-packed, and deeply authentic – while also delivering a refined dining experience. With so much choice still left on the menu, we’re already excited to visit their other locations in London too. If you’re in Oxford and want a fully vegetarian restaurant that serves food with heart and authenticity, Namaste Village is a must-visit. We have no doubt this place is going to be a huge success.

I placed an order via Deliveroo (Order no 8509) for 1x Masala Puri, 1x Masala Dosa (shockingly small with little filling for something that costs 11 quid), 1x Gobi Manchurian, 1x Paneer Angara, 2x Butter Naan and 2x Thumbs Up cans. I did not receive the 1x Masala Puri with my order and informed Deliveroo. I also called Namaste Village to inform them and confirm if this was an error on their end or the Deliveroo rider. The manager on shift accepted that it’s their mistake and asked if I could pick it up. This was not possible hence we’d ordered from Deliveroo in the first place. He then suggested I re-order the masala puri. I informed him that this would not be appropriate as Deliveroo would charge me extra for a small order fee. He then informed me that I can order the masala puri and that as an apology, he would send me extra bits from the menu. He asked me to pick anything from the menu that I wanted. I requested that I be sent the vegetable biryani medley and the beetroot halwa. I confirmed if this was okay with him and he assured me that it was. I double checked and informed him that I understand that it’s a human error that happened initially and I did not want to overstep. He assured me multiple times that it’s alright and that he will also send 2x Masala Puri’s instead of the 1x quantity that I order. I went ahead and placed the order. Received the order in a bit and it only had 1x Masala Puri and 1x vegetable biryani medley. On the receipt, I could see Halwa written and then striked off. My issue here is that I very well accepted the human error that took place when my masala puri was not sent initially. The restaurant offered to send in multiple extra items if I reordered the missing item. They confirmed that they would be sending in these items as an apology and also as I incurred the small fee charge. So in the process of trying to correct a mistake, you go ahead and make another one by promising to send me a few things but then don’t?? This has been a sorry experience for me and I am extremely disappointed. I tried to ring back the restaurant to have a word with the manager who I spoke to initially, and obviously no one answered my calls. This was my first and last order with this place. I am not a business owner but surely this must not be the right way.

I had the pleasure of dining at Namaste Village in Oxford, and I must say, what a beautiful experience from start to finish! They’ve only just opened, but it already feels like a well-loved gem in the heart of the city. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant Indian ambiance that made me feel instantly welcome. To begin, I tried the Samosa Chaat and Buffalo Cauliflower. Both bursting with bold, authentic flavors. The samosa chaat was the perfect mix of crispy, tangy, and spicy, while the cauliflower had the ideal balance of crunch and spice, making it a unique starter that I’ll definitely come back for. The Kesar Pista Lassi was rich, creamy, and delicately infused with saffron and pistachio. A truly refreshing treat. Alongside it, I had the Strawberry Pomegranate Mojito, which was light, fruity, and incredibly refreshing, as well as a perfect fusion drink that adds a modern twist to traditional Indian flavors. The mains were nothing short of marvelous. The dosa, which was perfectly crisp and paired with a variety of flavorful chutneys and sambar. The Paneer Angara was a standout. It was smoky, spicy, and absolutely delicious, with tender chunks of paneer in a beautifully spiced gravy. Huge shoutout to Jemin and the entire team. Their warmth, professionalism, and passion for what they do shine through in every aspect of the restaurant. The service was top-tier: friendly, attentive, and always with a genuine smile. They truly go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable and happy. Namaste Village Oxford is dog-friendly! Their outdoor seating area is the perfect spot to relax on a sunny day with your furry friend by your side while enjoying some delicious food and drink. In short, Namaste Village Oxford is a spectacular addition to the city’s food scene. With incredible flavors, outstanding service, and a welcoming vibe, it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. There’s so much more on the menu to explore! If you're in Oxford and looking for a vibrant, delicious, and heartwarming Indian dining experience, this is the place to be.
