Big NOOOO!!!!!! Very bad hospitality I am saying this because who serves water in wine glasses. Handed over the bill as soon as the food came to table which felt bad I can understand every restaurant have closing time but when you know you are about to close tell the guest that kitchen is closing and we are not offering table now. Same gravy for all curry’s wheather it is chicken or vegetable kolhapuri. No authentic Indian taste in gravy. And yes which restaurant make the curry’s and dal tarka ready if we want some modification. I asked for mild dal tarka as we had a kid and they do not have kids menu and waiter said sir we have the dal tarka already made and can not be made customisation. Seriously man are you preparing lunch menu ready in the last night??

Went in on a whim and was absolutely blown away. Every single dish I tried was good. If you are a chaat lover their papri chaat is amazing (papri chaat as a dish may not be for everyone but if it is for you then theirs is amazing), some of the best I've had in the UK. Their mixed Delhi sizzler (see video) was also just incredibly spiced and cooked, one of the best I've had. I also recommend their Malai kofta, especially the kofta itself was incredibly well done. Lastly, their Gulaab Jamun are as good as in India itself, I loved every single bite. I will definitely be coming back (though most likely for a special occasion!)

I had a wonderful experience at the Old Delhi in Oxford! I went there for lunch and was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavours and perfectly spiced. Every dish we tried was fresh and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome at the moment we walked in. The restaurant is well-organized and spotlessly clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, Old Delhi offers a fantastic dining experience with top-notch food and excellent service. I’ll be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine in Oxford!

I went with a party of 9 a few days ago, and I was really unimpressed with the speed of the service. They took our order the day before (about 36 hours in advance), and to make things as easy as possible almost all of us ordered the same thing: 7 chicken tikka masala, and 2 paneer tikka for the vegetarians. Despite having this very simple order more than 24 hours in advance, the mains took a whooping hour and a half total to come out, 40 minutes after the starters. Mind you, we were one table out of about 3 or 4 that evening, and they were all parties smaller than 4 people, so it wasn't even that busy. To top it all off, when I ordered some water for the table, the final charge was £5.95 for a 750ml bottle of water, less than a litre. Absolutely extortionate. When the food arrived it was quite good, even if the portions were a little small, but the tastiness of it was somewhat offset by the ridiculous waiting time on a rather...

Had a really delicious meal here - everything was great, a really high standard of food with delicious flavours, a clear cut above the majority of indian restaurants. The chicken tikka starter had a delicious taste from being cooked in the traditional oven over coals, and the lamb madras combined some exceptional flavours with a good level of spice, tender meat and a good portion size. We went early on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet, so I suppose I have to take one star off for atmosphere on here solely because of that. The decor is nice and the staff were friendly and efficient. I hope that they are busy enough at other times to stay in business, as I would definitely like to go back and have this very tasty food again.

I've put the price as £20-30, but outside of peak days they have a generous meal deal for around £15 (not...

A restaurant that makes you hungrier, what a novel idea. Food took an age to arrive. We got our starter after a bit of a wait, but the main came so long after I was feeling hungrier than before the starter. Everything on the menu is spicy, literally just a Korma off the mains that doesn't have a chili next to it. Not a problem for me because I like spicy food, but be warned in case you're dining with someone who doesn't. They won't be able to eat any of it. My advice is, if you're the kind of person who enjoys punishingly spicy food, don't go to the restaurant! o/Order it in, clear your entire evening (because it might take some time to arrive) and enjoy the spice as much as you can before you need a lie down. No way you'll be wanting to eat here and then go out after, too spicy and everything will be closed by the time your food...
