I went with a party of 9 a few days ago, and I was really unimpressed with the speed of the service. They took our order the day before (about 36 hours in advance), and to make things as easy as possible almost all of us ordered the same thing: 7 chicken tikka masala, and 2 paneer tikka for the vegetarians. Despite having this very simple order more than 24 hours in advance, the mains took a whooping hour and a half total to come out, 40 minutes after the starters. Mind you, we were one table out of about 3 or 4 that evening, and they were all parties smaller than 4 people, so it wasn't even that busy. To top it all off, when I ordered some water for the table, the final charge was £5.95 for a 750ml bottle of water, less than a litre. Absolutely extortionate. When the food arrived it was quite good, even if the portions were a little small, but the tastiness of it was somewhat offset by the ridiculous waiting time on a rather...

The chicken tikka starter had a delicious taste from being cooked in the traditional oven over coals, and the lamb madras combined some exceptional flavours with a good level of spice, tender meat and a good portion size. We went early on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet, so I suppose I have to take one star off for atmosphere on here solely because of that. The decor is nice and the staff were friendly and efficient. I hope that they are busy enough at other times to stay in business, as I would definitely like to go back and have this very tasty food again.
I've put the price as £20-30, but outside of peak days they have a generous meal deal for around £15 (not...
Read moreA restaurant that makes you hungrier, what a novel idea. Food took an age to arrive. We got our starter after a bit of a wait, but the main came so long after I was feeling hungrier than before the starter. Everything on the menu is spicy, literally just a Korma off the mains that doesn't have a chili next to it. Not a problem for me because I like spicy food, but be warned in case you're dining with someone who doesn't. They won't be able to eat any of it. My advice is, if you're the kind of person who enjoys punishingly spicy food, don't go to the restaurant! o/Order it in, clear your entire evening (because it might take some time to arrive) and enjoy the spice as much as you can before you need a lie down. No way you'll be wanting to eat here and then go out after, too spicy and everything will be closed by the time your food...
