SoBe Burger Plymouth — Restaurant in Plymouth

Genuinely don't understand how the ratings for this place are so high

I will start by saying that I can't fault them for price or value for money Their prices are very fair & the portions are generous; they also regularly run good deals like buy one get ome free on delivery apps which is admittedly really good value

I had heard good things about it, so I decided to give it a try

I tried the truffle burger & a few sides The sides were okay,, & the burger would have been decent (but still not exceptional) if it wasn't for the fact that the beef was extremely salty, gristley & also chewy The burgers being chewy is a tell-tale sign that the beef used to make them is of a low standard of quality

I thought that maybe this was just a one-off, & because of the good reviews, I thought I may have just gotten unlucky... so I decided to give them another chance

Bare in mind, that the time between the first time & the second time that I tried them was probably arounf 5 months... I tried them a second time & once again, was disappointed, the burger was chewy & still retained that low quality beef texture

Despite this, I did try a chicken burger & wings The chicken burger was nice & crispy, but could have done with some more seasoning & sauce The wings were really nice, but unfortunately they did show up cold

I'd suggest avoiding the beef burgers if you want to try Sobe, go for the sides & chicken burgers instead

I wish this place was better, they have great branding which made them appeal to me as well as the word of mouth recommendations... but unfortunately, their food is not up to the standards of their reviews

I have since also had friends have the exact same experience with the chewy, salty beef too

There are much better burger...

Smashing food! First time trying and it did not disappoint. The sobe hot fries were to die for! Perfect amount of sauce, jalapeños and chives. Best kind of loaded fries I’ve ever had. The double bacon and cheese burger was full of flavour as well and Not greasy. All food is nicely presented. We got the lunch meal deal so was super cheap and included a can of drink for only £10. Portions are big as well to the point I Only managed to eat the fries while in the restaurant and saved the burger for later in the day. Good music playing in the restaurant as well and the staff are lovely. Thank you for our experience today, we are looking forward to coming...

I ordered online as I wanted to try something new. This delivery was extremely well packaged, still hot, arrived quickly, tasted fresh and gave good portion sizes for the money. When ordering I did think it was quite expensive but was so unbelievably worth it. Every item came packaged separately and wrapped well insuring it kept its warmth. My burger was honestly divine, so flavour full and delicious. Why wings were moist and decorated with such class. And the chips were a big bag worth the 4 pounds still hot and seasoned all the way through. Massively impressed and will be back. Thank...
