Upon entering The Spinnaker Café, one is enveloped by an ambiance that whispers of homely charm and a rich tapestry of culinary tradition. The service here is a seamless dance of attentiveness and discretion, with staff that seem to anticipate needs you hadn't yet voiced.
The star of the show is, undoubtedly, the full English breakfast. It is a plate that tells a story, each item a character with its own distinct narrative: the sausages are robust and perfectly seasoned, the fried eggs are a masterpiece with yolks like molten gold, and the fried bread boasts a crunch that echoes through the senses. The mushrooms and tomatoes are stewed to a tenderness that suggests a patience in their preparation, while the baked beans provide a comforting baseline of familiarity. The black pudding and bubble and squeak are authentic nods to a proud heritage, executed with a finesse that elevates humble ingredients to something quite extraordinary.
The accompanying latte is the silent yet strong supporting character in this morning's tale, with a richness and depth that serves as the ideal counterpoint to the hearty meal.
While the café itself is unassuming, it is this very simplicity that amplifies the experience, allowing the food and the service to shine without distraction. If I were to call out a single shortfall, it would be that such a meal deserves to be savoured without the constraints of time, yet the bustling nature of the café reminds you that others are waiting to write their own stories.
In sum, The Spinnaker Café doesn't just serve breakfast; it serves an experience that lingers long after the last bite. It's a place where every visit feels like a return to somewhere familiar, yet excitingly new. It’s a testament to the timelessness of good food and...
Read moreWe have only just found this amazing cafe. Breakfast this morning was really a treat freshly cooked clean and delicious. Most Sundays we visit other quite well known venues for breakfast along the seafront. We wont be any more! We have found the perfect start to Sunday. Dont be put off by the frontage which if im truthful does scream Cafe, but this is so much more. This place really is worth a visit. The staff were tentative and friendly. They know what people want and how to deliver. The prices are very reasonable. I would even say they are slightly cheaper, however i would have been more than happy to have paid more as we thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The menu is varied with a little bit of something for everyone. Give the fancy tea rooms and Cafe's a miss try the Spinnaker you wont be disappointed. Well done to the team we will...
Read moreMy wife and I visited for breakfast today. The food was average at best for the price paid, and additional items were extortionately priced . Whilst eating members of the team kept glancing over at my wife which made her uncomfortable. Before finishing our coffee we were even asked if we wanted to pay the bill, which seemed strange? When we got up to leave the young girl was immediately on us again to pay, even though other guests had paid at the till. We're not sure if this was a case of mistaken identity but we were definitely treated differently to other customers. We will not be recommending you to our friends and family, and you should definitely review your...
