Upon entering The Spinnaker Café, one is enveloped by an ambiance that whispers of homely charm and a rich tapestry of culinary tradition. The service here is a seamless dance of attentiveness and discretion, with staff that seem to anticipate needs you hadn't yet voiced. The star of the show is, undoubtedly, the full English breakfast. It is a plate that tells a story, each item a character with its own distinct narrative: the sausages are robust and perfectly seasoned, the fried eggs are a masterpiece with yolks like molten gold, and the fried bread boasts a crunch that echoes through the senses. The mushrooms and tomatoes are stewed to a tenderness that suggests a patience in their preparation, while the baked beans provide a comforting baseline of familiarity. The black pudding and bubble and squeak are authentic nods to a proud heritage, executed with a finesse that elevates humble ingredients to something quite extraordinary. The accompanying latte is the silent yet strong supporting character in this morning's tale, with a richness and depth that serves as the ideal counterpoint to the hearty meal. While the café itself is unassuming, it is this very simplicity that amplifies the experience, allowing the food and the service to shine without distraction. If I were to call out a single shortfall, it would be that such a meal deserves to be savoured without the constraints of time, yet the bustling nature of the café reminds you that others are waiting to write their own stories. In sum, The Spinnaker Café doesn't just serve breakfast; it serves an experience that lingers long after the last bite. It's a place where every visit feels like a return to somewhere familiar, yet excitingly new. It’s a testament to the timelessness of good food and good company.

After a fun night seeing a friend performing at the King's Theatre...we woke to sunshine, calm sea and the need for a good breakfast. Walking along the seafront we eventually chanced on the Spinnaker Cafe. A small cafe ( seating about 26), with a clean crisply decorated interior offering all day food. We both chose the large full English.... excellent value for money, well cooked....not overly greasy, good quality ingredients. Around us we saw their sandwiches and breakfast wraps..all well presented and excellent value for money. If you are in Southsea, this is a must visit.

Came for food after a two and a half our drive, we thought why not try a cute cafe next to us when parking. We came in, staff were outstanding, loved that the place was dog friendly aswell with the dog ice cream. Got served after entering, lovely range of English food and a wide variety of drink choices (the Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate is the best I've tasted). The open sandwich with salmon and poached eggs tasted outstanding. When I come back again, this will be a top spot on my bucket list.

Lovely little cafe with fantastic view of the Spinnaker tower. The staff were very welcoming upon entering and the choices of food and drink on offer was excellent. They also had several cakes on which was equally tasty (due to being full it had to be taken away). I would recommend everyone to try them out and with the other things you are able to do in Old Portsmouth it's a great place to visit for a quick bite to eat or drink.

The best place to be when the weather is not that great, you can have your favourite comfort food and watch the ships go by. It’s a really nice location and the views are amazing, but the menu and food choices let it down. I would love to see few healthy alternatives, yes they do have gluten free cakes and I also like their scones. But the real challenge is trying to find a table by the window 😹.

What a fantastic 'cafè' The food and value was great...pictured is the Large Breakfast... £9.25 at the time of our visit. There are also small, medium and Mega Challenge sizes. Other breakfast meal and other meals are available to. Comprehensive drinks from Coke float...to cups of tea and coffee. Worth a visit ... We found it by chance, thankful we did
