Visited last weekend for my birthday and was very disappointed. It was my 3rd time visiting and the last 2 visits were amazing, so came expecting the same experience. There were 7 of us and they had no room indoors for us meaning we had to sit out in the freezing cold (there are heaters but they burn your scalp if sat too near so had to rotate seating which wasn’t great) we were told they operated on a first come first serve basis. I made this booking over a month ago and nowhere does it say it works like this and there could be a possibility you’re sat outside. Given we’re made to pay a deposit it locks you into being happy with being plonked outside. We did ask if we could be moved inside if enough seats became available and was told no! :/
I wish this was the only issue … it took 15 mins to get our first drink (we’d booked bottomless brunch) we resorted to ordering our next one when our drinks finally came. In total we’d had 4 drinks each in the 90 min slot (kinda goes against the term bottomless -_- ) we also had to ask for our welcome shots which are advertised!
As our booking came to an end we did speak to a very helpful waitress who ended up bringing us a couple more drinks after our time was up which did somewhat improve the experience and is the only reason I’m not giving a 1 star.
All in all it was a massive downer on my birthday celebration and I’d need some serious convincing to come back which is a massive shame as the last visits were so amazing. I get everyone has an off day but there were...
Read moreI do love Terrace Goods when I have been previously and I can't fault the previous food and service.
The 2 stars is because I went today with my partner and we were seated no worries but had to wait so long to be given menus and only got them because we asked and then we were waiting and waiting and waiting to be served. The servers that were on shift were on their phones and chatting to eachother rather than serving and we noticed a few key faces from their staff missing.
We gave our menus to the table next to us when it was clear they weren't being seen to either.
Eventually we just had enough of waiting and seeing the staff just chatting that we left and went elsewhere for food. They hadn't even taken a drinks order or brought over water. A huge disappointment and I could tell that the female server saw that we were leaving but she didn't say anything to us. As we were leaving, we heard tables outside ask if they should have been ordering at the bar due to the lack of service. Their server said that he would come and see to them but this was after leaning on the bar chatting and having a conversation.
I wouldn't be saying anything if I knew the staff were busy and rushed off their feet and I saw them cycling through the tables having worked in hospitality before but this was just inexcusable and I really hope they can improve. It would really seem that their new staff aren't up to the task and can't do...
Read moreOne of my favourite places to visit within Sheffield. The chicken sandwich is genuinely one of the best things to eat in Sheffield, however, we were left a little deflated on the last visit. We arrived about 5:30pm on a Friday and had to sit outside due to inside being fully booked. That’s fine as we should have booked. We eventually moved inside when some tables became free. We were sat in the window, next to the bar, when a girl walked in. The staff seemed to know her. She sat close to us chatting to the staff. She kept shooting my friend a dirty look when she talked as if she found her annoying. She got up and left shortly after. It got quite late, and after 3 or 4 pints each, we asked for more food. The waitress told us we weren’t allowed any more food as they had to prioritise bookings over walk-ins. It was very annoying especially as we had a bar bill of £50 plus already at this point but basically told it didn’t matter. It was really deflating. About an hour later the waitress offered my friend a leftover £1 pizza slice which she accepted. It just felt rude and we were after thoughts to bookings despite having a large bar bill and being in there for 2 or 3 hours. I’ll go back in future but I hope for...
