I paused about even leaving a review as the Manager Christine said I could call the Owners and they won't care. She can do whatever she wants because she is the Manager. Here is what happened though. Coming back from aa week at the beach. Had an amazing family vacation. My 5 year old wanted DQ. She is Autistic and doesn't ask for much so ok. We order. Get our food. She starts choking on a fry. Not life or death. But having a hard time. Needs water. I go to ask for a cup. She is taking an order. I wait. Then ask for a cup. She says did you even order. Yes. I need a water cup. She walks off. I think for a cup. No. She is making an ice cream cone for someone else. So I ask the drive thru person. She says the cups are on the table. I explain we do not have a water cup. She says she will get it when she is done. I then say my Autistic daughter is choking can I please have a cup for water. She proceeds to tell me to wait or she will throw me out. I say whatever you need to do but I need my child mot to choke. Someone else hands me a cup. I think we are done. I hear her just talking trash about me. About how I should be prepared it's not her problem my child is disabled. My older child is upset. Because at this point I very clearly ask her what her problem is. I get my daughter her water. My Husband gets to go bags and I walk to the outside. Take a picture of the sign with the Owners number. She then follows me and tells me I can call anyone I want. But she is the Manager and they won't call me back. They don't care. This is all before I have even had a bite of my food. Which by the time we get back on the road I realize is disgusting. Git the BBQ chicken strip. They were both burnt and raw? Didn't say anything because at this point it would sound like I was complaining to complain. Then my Husband tries his. Spits it out and says what the... so it wasn't just me. Even then I was looking inward and trying to figure out what I had done to offend her. Was I to assertive? Bec6when it comes to my youngest I am extremely defensive and I do go from zero to panic as we have had some very serious safety issues with her. But she was being absolutely amazing. She just has trouble swallowing occasionally which is pretty common in autism. Christine has said to me how was she supposed to know she was one of those when she doesn't look like one? One what? I think I know what she meant. Because my daughter has level one Autism. But level 3 eloper. To be clear though, we don't need her to only give water to handicapped children. She had to pass the water cups to get to the ice cream machine. Made sure to make the single cup of soft serve as slowly as possible staring at me with a f you scowl the entire time. Accused me of trying to get free water for my child and not order anything. Even though we had just spent over 40.00 on fast food. I wasn't going to write a review of my horrifying experience. Then I saw the hundreds over other reviews about the awful service...
Read moreWe were on the road, in a bit of a rush, and decided to go through a drive-thru. The options were Taco Bell, McDonald’s, KFC, Wendy’s, and Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen won out.
The drive-thru ordering process was a little rough—the worker had trouble hearing me, and I had to repeat myself several times. Not sure if it was the speaker, his headset, or just him. That said, he was pleasant and got the order correct, which I appreciated.
I ordered a triple burger with onion rings and a Dr Pepper. My companion got a single burger and onion rings. The total was over $25, which felt a bit pricey for fast food, but that seems to be the norm these days.
I don't know if it's because I haven't had a soda in such a long time, or the recipe here is a better combination, but soda was very tasty. If we hadn't been driving through I probably would have gotten another one. burger had way too much ketchup—so much that I couldn’t taste much else. It was very sweet, overwhelming everything else on the burger. Supposedly it had mustard too, but I couldn’t detect it at all. There were two pickles on it, the bun was a bit hard, and the onion rings were overcooked.
Sam’s burger (my companion’s) was fine. Her onion rings were excellent while hot, and when I finished what she didn’t eat, they were cooked much better than mine.
Overall, it was a filling meal, convenient for travelers, and probably the better choice out of the fast-food options available...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Based on our own experience tonight, and how they messed up our order would have been 3. However while we waited for our order I watched the "grill cook" add mayonnaise and ketchup to dirty bottles! ALWAYS, in my 20 plus years in food service, you add old to new, not the other way around. I seriously almost vomited. Because of this I just took what the girl gave us and left! PROMPTLY! When we got to our vehicle and headed the 10-15 miles home, my son and I had both recived the wrong items! Said we needed 3 BLIZZARDS- He asked for a Reese's outrageous, which we were charged for, I asked for an extreme brownie, was charged for a triple brownie SUNDAE, the only thing right was my husbands butterfinger and our 2 dogs plain vanilla ice creams. My son got some kind of cookie dough made with chocolate ice cream and I recived some kind of sundea with a hard as rock brownie and a dollop of ice cream smaller than the nasty whip cream they put on it. And they were NOT busy. Had plenty people there. I am glad we were not depending on them for our dinner. Also if I could post my receipt...
