When I went in it was my first time going to this place and i’ll never come back. I work in customer service and know how to treat people in general, this is obviously something that is not pushed in this “restaurant.” When I asked the waitress what is in their Yakisoba noodles she went to the back to ask and then the told me “cabbage, broccoli, carrots,” and a couple of other veggies and only listed veggies. Not meat. I am a vegetarian and I asked if there was meat in the noodles and she said no. When I sat down after paying $10 for a plate of noodles she came back and there was chicken in it. When I pointed it out to her she said that she could not take it back and that was what I ordered when it was clearly not. She had also said that if she were to take it back there then they would say she has to pay for the food, which it was her fault in the first place. I did not get a refund. We were polite. She asked me if I wanted to pay for another dish and look off of a vegetarian menu and I said no because I had already felt like I didn’t want to be there and uncomfortable. After a while and being upset while my friend was eating we had asked to speak to the manager. The waitress said she will go ask and the manager happened to be at a table not too far away from us. After watching the conversation to see if she can come speak to us she got up and started waving her hands around saying “there’s nothing to talk to.” And her and the man she was with got up and left. I left the pile of noodles and chicken at the store because I didn’t know what to do with it. About 10 min later I had told my mom about it and she called to complain. The waitress answered back saying her hands are tied, there’s nothing she can do about it, and hung up. I’ve never been treated so rudely at a restaurant before and I will not return as the manager had also said that if I don’t like their food to not return. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you want disappointment...
Read moreBeing a retired customer service individual, I think I know a thing or two about the subject. The store was not overly clean, although it was not dirty either. They were busy. Busy to the point of having the wait line half way to the door.....about 25 feet. They have two cash registers, although I do not know why. The many times we've eaten there, the second one has never been used. They have a skeleton crew, which means one person running the til. That same person answers the phone. Did I mention poor customer service? We waited for 20 minutes while this young gal took food orders from customers standing in front of her AND fielded phone orders. I have a REAL PROBLEM WITH THAT. The person standing in front of you.....with money in hand is MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PERSON ON THE PHONE...PERIOD!! That person may be PRANKING YOU, which means, you cook their food, and they never show up. Now, you're out food AND revenue! They are friendly, but friendly doesn't keep businesses open; GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES. The gal should have put them on hold momentarily, taken the next order, and then taken the call; thanking them for their patients; not asked the person in line to wait while she tookl a phone order. Another, and even better option, would have been to have SOMEONE ELSE...
Read moreOverall this Happy Teriyaki is a great spot. Good tasting food and decent quantities. However, it does have its downfalls too from management and/or ownership. The dishes seem to be overpriced even with the nationwide inflation. And just recently some of the best combos just took a price hike without warning. All drinks are way over priced which force a person to not want to dine-in, or even support the business. If you do order drinks, do not plan on taking it with your leftovers as this business does not do beverage to go cups. They finally gave us a to go soup bowl for our soda as I doubt they would provide a refund for a barely touched fountain drink. The staff is very polite and does what they can to accommodate customers within their power, so again, remember management or owner are the ones responsible for the downfalls. Hopefully the employees will start to take a stand against management and then the owners to make prices fair again as this is not the restaurant type of place that truly warrants $60 for dinner for two. There is no atmosphere or experience here to warrant the over priced food. I cannot in good faith tell people to spend their hard earned money here as much as its...
