Dave's Place — Restaurant in Aberdeen

I'm not sure what we were expecting, but being from out of town and just passing through, we looked up nearby restaurants and found what looked like a relatively highly rated local gem. Pictures online looked promising, so we decided to swing by and grab some takeout to bring back to the place we were staying for the night. Plus, as a Dave myself I figured I could at least support my fellow namesake.

The food was mediocre at best--the absolute definition of dive bar food that's more likely simply reheated than actually cooked. All three separate and vastly different food selections were cafeteria quality at best.

The atmosphere was pretty chill, I must admit. As I waited for my take out order to be ready, it seemed like a cool little joint to grab some beers at--just not a place to pick solely for food. If I was a few beers deep, I would've enjoyed the food more, I'm sure.

Advice: swing by for some beers and good music but...

Passing through on my way to Lillington and found this spot. Great food and the fantastic woman behind the bar knew everyone’s name that came through the door. I could tell this was a place that had repeat customers by how everyone seemed to know everyone. The food was fantastic and for the lack of people that seemed to be working during lunch I applaud the speed of the service. Everything that was supposed to be hot was HOT. Everything cooked and prepared upon order. The locals even chatted me up as if I was coming there routinely. Lady behind the bar even mentioned she’s never seen me before and treated me as if I was a regular as well.

Looking forward to making this my go to spot when I drive up to Lillington each month. Thanks for the great food and...

I walked in with 2 friends and was there for less than 5 minutes. We weren't greeted in that time and the waitress clearly saw us yet did not say anything or try to seat us so we left. Its not a great experience to stand there looking around while people stare at you looking like what are they doing. Not much seating, a decent little crowd at the bar. Seemed to me it was more so a bar than an actual place to take your family to eat. The folks there came off as a bar crowd as well. There were a few games in there as well.
