My mother had told me to put in this bad review for the general manager at bonchon. On the first of August my mother and sister were out eating at a restaurant thatâs not Bonchon and they have lost their phone they were calling the phone a bunch of times and it was going to straight voicemail so we decided to call Bonchon twice and they said two times they donât have a phone. Then my mother and sister went to bonchon and a cashier handed my mom the phone and my mom ask the cashier about how they get the phone and she was being very respectful trying to answer all the questions my mom had but then the general manager came and my mother was asking her who left her phone there or what did the person look like and the general manager was just rude and disrespectful to my mother about the situation and was just saying âlook you should be happy you have your phone stop asking questions and leaveâ and another manager was there she was off the clock she goes by tam she was talking to my mom she was asking about the phone to see if she can help my mom but then the general manager she was telling tam the manager not on the clock to stop talking to my mother just very disrespectful to the guest and seems like her employees because my mother also said that the cashier and the manager off the clock where trying to help her but the general just wanted them out the store and was telling her employees to stop talking to them. There were some amateur mistakes as a place that just opened. I ordered online the half and half option, picking soy garlic and plain as my two choices. I received the soy garlic and spicy instead. It seems like they don't actually offer the plain, as shown on their menu in-store. But knowing this obvious error, nobody explained to me while I picked up my order, and I only had to be disappointed when I noticed after getting home. I would have been completely understanding if it were explained to me in person, and I wouldn't have felt tricked or disappointed.
The online system forced me to pick up a time for pick up. The food was actually prepared 30 minutes sooner than they time they gave me online. I was lucky to be near and respond to their unexpected text notification and pick up my food when it was still warm.
Most importantly - the food quality and taste. You need to eat the chicke right when it's made, since their crispy fry batter was most unique. Very crunchy and the crunch noise was also satisfying. However - the wings were actually small underneath the fried batter. I'd say half the weight was batter and the rest the meat and bone. It also appeared they were filming content, because the chef and who appeared to be upper management were in and out of kitchen with plates to a woman sitting at the table and they were taking pictures - I mentioned this to say, not one of those people greeted or acknowledged the customers that were waiting in the leaky location.
Service is a 3 due to the service received at the counter (they were a 5), but coupled with the previous statement (1) ends with a 3.
Food: Mid at best, the chicken is crunchy but it lacked seasoning/flavor. The fries are over seasoned, so I added a fry with the chicken to get some flavor, it wasnât the best combo! I didnât finish my food, and I almost never waste food, but I tossed it. I wanted fried rice as a side but thatâs not an option, not sure if I want give it another whirl to be disappointed.
