Zalat Pizza — Restaurant in Addison

Pizza was ok but service was horrible. I went by at 8:30pm this last Thursday and walked up to the window to order a pizza. I was told by the tall man with the makeup on his eyes/cheeks that it would be an hour for a pizza because they had so many orders. I said are you sure? An hour? He said yes. An hour. Possibly longer. I declined then I went to my car and spent the next 10 min googling different pizza places to go to.

During that time I had a full, unobstructed view of the kitchen and observed the employees talking and cleaning but DID NOT observe them breaking out in a frenzy of pizza making with the supposed influx of new orders. Then I went online to place an order for Zalat just to see what the estimated wait time was. The online order system told me that the wait was not more than 25 min. For a pizza for pick up. So I think I was lied to. Then I went back on Saturday and ordered a pizza and got it in about 15 min. When the pizza was ready I put it in my car then noticed that they had not included any parmesan or red pepper flakes. So I walked back to the window and asked for some and the employee came back to the window with some and with an attitude he said "Here is your FREE parmesan and red pepper.". He stressed the word FREE as if I was asking for something special that was not normally offered.

There are several pizza places within a 4 block radius of Zalat. All are very good and I've never had the terrible customer service with the other places. Choose wisely where you...

I love Zalat pizza. I was so excited when I found out they were opening this location, as I don't live downtown anymore. But this was just straight gross. I picked up my pizza and when I got it to my apartment in Addison Circle (maybe 5 minutes away), it was cold. Like not even a little warm cold. And I ordered a large 2 topping pizza, there were hardly any toppings and hardly any cheese on it. The crust was stretched so thin it was crumbing like a cracker when I would take a bite. Also, the service was bad. I stood outside the door ringing the bell for several minutes before anyone even looked up and acknowledged my existence.

Although, I could easily forgive the service on a Friday night. How disgusting my pizza was? There is no explanation. Literally any chain restaurant would have cheaper and tasted better.

I ordered ahead on the app and picked up two pizzas at Zalat Addison location. My all time favorite is pineapple express and I've tried sweet revenge before, so this time i got elote as well. I received my "ready for pickup" text message as soon as I arrived, but the lady who handed me my order was having a very passionate & emotional side chat with a coworker inside the store/kitchen and I felt like I was bothering her as a customer in the middle of her conversation, even though I was only there for a minute or so waiting outside to pick up my order through the window. I went to Zalat in Fitzhugh location last month and the food, atmoshere, and customer service were much better than this Addison location.
