Listen! I’ve been munching on Eddies Famous Cheesesteaks since the early 2000s—back when my 3am bar exits in downtown Akron led me straight to his sidewalk tent of deliciousness. Fast forward, and now I'm (mostly) grown up, still devouring Eddie’s masterpieces during my lunch breaks at his cozy restaurant just a few blocks down from the Ol' Tent. šŸ˜Ž Consistency is key, and Eddie’s has it locked down! But let's be real—DELICIOUS is the first word that comes to mind. 🤤 For 24 years, Eddie’s has been serving me mouthgasmic cheesesteaks and fries with flavors that makes me question every other food choice I’ve ever made. The portions? Perfect and consistent. The service? Friendly as ever. The taste? Unchanged in the best way. In a world where nothing stays the same, this is a breath of fresh (cheesy) air. šŸ™Œ Now, confession time. I’ve been having a lunch fling with some "healthy option" down the road. 😬 But Eddie’s crew didn’t judge—they schooled me on Eddie’s Slammers instead. Y’ALL. I tried the Cajun Slammer today, and it was AMAZEBALLS. šŸ˜ No bread, no fries—low carb heaven! And I hear if you eat it standing up, it’s basically fat-free... right? šŸ¤” The cajun seasoning, that magical brown drizzle, the bean-y corn-y salsa, the super fresh greens... I’m a gangsta, but I legit shed a tear of joy on that first bite. 😢 From now on, this beauty is officially called the Slamma. šŸ’„ GO GET A SLAMMA! While you're at it, grab a NORKA Sparkling Soda to wash it down. #SupportLocal 🄤 Fun fact: Norka is Akron spelled backwards! Bet you didn’t know that, but hey, only the smarties who eat Slamma's do. šŸ˜‰ Dude- go to Eddie’s, order a Slamma (they’ve got like 4-5 options), grab a Norka, and step up your lunch or dinner game....

It's February 14th 2024, my 40th Birthday and my Family and I decided to check out Eddie's Famous Cheesesteaks located in the heart of the Downtown Akron Ohio. I knew about this cheesesteak shop because I have picked up several orders there when I was door dashing and the food smelled amazing. We stepped into Eddie's and they had Valentines decorations all over their shop which was pretty cool and they were also celebrating 30 years of being in service, which is a really great achievement. Before we got up to the counter to order our food we were greeted by a guy who was handing out free bottles of Norka Soda which I was told was an Akron Ohio staple. Plus the restaurant was also handing out free cupcakes all to celebrate for Valentine's Day. We ordered several different subs, I had The Eddie which is the Original sandwich offered by Famous Eddie's Cheesesteak, it's loaded with their seasoned cute fries and packed with a pound & half of cheesesteak nirvana. Our cheesesteaks were all full of flavorful yummy tasting goodness. The only thing is I wished the cheese was more melted and blended with the meat better but other than that it was a solid tasting sandwich. The best park of our visit was when the owner of Eddie's came out to greet us and he gave a some free swag which was two Famous Eddie's T-shirts. We took our food home to eat it and it...

Just yum. Another coworker recommendation. It was quick, and so freaking good!! There was enough fries for 3 people, not the you would want to share them. Lol. The steak was juicy and seasoned well. The fries are real, homemade, but still had the perfect ount of crunch on the outside. My only complaint, which is more of a personal preference, but just a heads-up for others with same preference - if you like your mushrooms more cooked, more squishy than firm, then you might want to request such when you order. My mushrooms (and onions too for that matter), we're just barely beyond cooked. They were still the original color, and had all the firmness. The onions were still very white, and we're crispy as well. I prefer mine more done. Still, that's not their fault to know why I like, and I didn't know how they cooked them. Now I do, and you do too! Lol Definitely stop in and grab a half, or whole if you can manage! Lol You will be...

I thought I would give them a try based on their ratings. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The food was pretty good, but not great. My cashier was ok but she could definitely have been friendlier. My biggest issue was the amount of time it took. I walked in and walked right up to the counter and placed my order. After that a couple people got their orders first (who were clearly regulars or knew the employees) while I was still waiting for mine. It was over 20 mins later that I got my food...during lunch rush...with no wait... Would I go back? Maybe, but probably not, I just wasn't impressed enough to deal with the traffic and parking situation. I do wish them the best of luck, the guys seemed friendly enough. As to the reviewer who said it was better than actual Philly cheese steaks, we clearly have different taste buds....
