Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Alameda

Ordered the Chipotle Honey Chicken bowl WITH GUACAMOLE. Get all the way home in DOWNTOWN OAKLAND to find no guacamole on my food! So I’m WILLING to eat the food, just refund me my money for the guacamole. So I call the store, all to not get the store! An automated machine tells me repeatedly that this store is “busy making bowls & burritos for other customers and no calls can be accepted at this location.” So now I’m PISSED! I have to waste my TIME, my GAS & depleted ENERGY to drive all the way back IN THE DARK to get a FULL REFUND BC WHAT?! So after being made to stand there for about 7 minutes, the guy comes to see what I want. I explained to him that I had to travel from Downtown Oakland to come back bc guacamole wasn’t put on my food & I would like to get a refund. So he asks for my card, I tell him I paid with ApplePay. So he goes into the drawer to hand me $13.13 (I believe it was). I tell him that’s not what I paid for the food. He responds, “ You ordered a chipotle honey chicken bowl.” I say, EXACTLY WITH GUACAMOLE THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE ON MY FOOD AS TO WHY I’M HERE.” (Tho the letters are large I was very calm) I show him the receipt on my phone saying I paid $16.34 for the food and yet, he STILL goes over to the bag to read the receipt 🤦🏾‍♀️ and sees I’m not lying THEN I guess 😡 then proceeds to give me the rest of the money owed SHAKING 🤦🏾‍♀️ Idk what ppl are used to be it is NEVER THAT SERIOUS! I am a 51 year old woman… Like PLZ CHILD! Just give me my money so I can go somewhere else to feed my DIABETIC SELF! NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I SUPPORT ANY CHIPOTLE AND THAT IS ON GOD 🤞🏾 This Chipotle was my last hope for this food chain! If I could give a ZERO I WOULD!!! Like YOU messed up my food had me traveling up & down the highway and had the AUDACITY to challenge ME… only in America! But I PROMISE it will never happen with Chipotle...

The food was good but I’m leaving a review in regards to the service. The young woman at the counter was in such a rush that she asked me what beans I wanted three times and was giving off super anxious and stressed vibes even though it wasn’t even busy (I was the only person left in line and there were maybe 7 people in the restaurant in total). The thing that made me want to leave this review is this: She gave the person in front of me the wrong beans, and even though the customer was really nice about it, the served tossed the WHOLE bowl into the trash with a shake of her head in apparent frustration/stress/embarrassment/an overreaction in comparison to how nice the customer was being about it. And she tossed the whole bowl including the pristine lid that hadn’t even been used yet. The callous and thoughtless wastefulness broke my heart. The server could have asked anyone in line if they wanted a free bowl or could have saved it on the side for their own lunch—there’s so many better options than throwing perfectly good food in the trash. Took my daughter to Chipotle after flying in while fixing her Burrito it is touching the counter which had not been wiped down from other foods they were working with she tried not to make a scene but the counter tops were nasty and we kept trying to tell them that her food was touching the nasty counter. We had to repeat ourselves at least 8 times when the lady behind us spoke up and yelled her food is touching the counter top and then that one was thrown out and a fresh burrito was made. I tried to point it out without anyone else knowing and I was told by another coworker not to put my hand over the counter which passed me off. You couldn't notice all of that old food stuck on the counter top but you notice my finger go across the top. After spending $32.00 getting home we couldn't enjoy it.
