The best part of this visit was the pickles and onions at the toppings bar.
From the moment I was greeted by the cashier I had a feeling this experience was going down hill. The attitude from him was very condescending. Not sure if he’s new and doesn’t know what he was doing, but there’s no need for the short answers when taking an order. There was no customer service and the order wasn’t repeated back.
The order itself was 90% correct except they missed the 4 ribs on the 4 rib plate. How does that happen?? Normally the to-go servers check the order with you, this step was missed therefore part of my order was missed. How lazy has Pappas become with their training. I realized the ribs were missing when I got home so called to let them know and I was asked “uhhh so do you want to come get them?” Of course I want them, why wouldn’t I want to go get them? That’s the only option I was offered. The second option was just to get the order right. The inconvenience of having to get my car and going back for a 20 minute drive was never addressed. Once I got there I spoke to a manager and yeah great they gave me what they owed me, but at what cost? My food at home was already cold. To top it off for my order specifically I asked for moist brisket on my plate. They gave me the leanest pieces they could possibly find. Second the baby back ribs on my plate was essentially baby back rib jerky. To top it off I place an order for a gallon of sweet tea, and in the whole restaurant in the middle of Sunday night dinner rush they only had maybe 1/4 gallon. How? How does that happen knowing it’s probably the most popular drink option at a bbq restaurant.
If you live in this area, take your money to triple j’s, I’m sure they have a better sense of customer service and food. This visit was atrocious. It’s as if after Covid all the Pappas family have done is increase the prices on food and left customer service on the...

Massive improvement! Efficient and expedient service in the drive thru with accurate reception of our order. Thank goodness, for the portions were very sufficient and the flavor of the food was delicious!
Thank you to the corporate office, general manager, and team members who have contributed to these improvements at this location!
June 2019:
If it were possible, I would rate THIS LOCATION negative 5 stars due to the INSANE wait time and SMALL portions for the $$$ in comparison to the Northline and Humble locations in the area. What's even sadder? After months/years of waiting for this location to reopen [after the tragic fire that took the original location away on this side of town], you would think this beautiful facility would have more COMPETENT and COURTEOUS team members.
Why have 2 drive thru lines and half the man power to meet the demand? The food is delicious, but perhaps the Pappas organization needs been to bring back more EXPERIENCED team members who understand the concept of efficiency and customer service; as well as a back-of-the-house team who provides consistent and balanced portions equal to the amount of money being charged for what's being sold.
Do better, Eastex...
Read moreWe came here instead of Pluckers cause we figured it would be a lot less busy. I guess we got what we wanted in that respect. Food’s okay; we got ribs, catfish, and turkey, and the best thing in my opinion was the turkey. The macaroni looked so good, we all ordered an extra $3 side of it. It was bland and cold. Employees were nice, courteous, and helpful, except for the associate at checkout. My goodness. I’m an empathetic person and I was almost in physical pain myself picking up on how painful it was for this person to be at this job, working, having to talk to people. Customer service is not for the faint of heart, but that’s reason enough this person should be in a warehouse working alone. When people are uncomfortable asking for help with something or asking questions about the menu, imagine what that does to an establishment. Here’s what happens: It’s the night of a playoff game around 8/9pm on a Saturday night. There’s about 15 people in there (including us) and a police officer for some reason. Granted, the prices alone would guarantee proceeds from one, slow night would put one of your employees through college, but it was a disappointing night through...
