Its pretty rare for me to leave such a low review score, service at this location is seriously lacking. I know it's a long review. SUMMARY- POOR SERVICE, INEXPERIENCED WAITRESS, MANAGER NEVER RETURNED WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD RETURN.
The inside of the restaurant was not busy. It was an extended amount of time before the waitress came over to take my drink order. (I had already considered leaving due to wait. I already had my menu sideways on the edge of the table as a sign that I was ready to order.) I waitress asked what I would like to drink. I told the waitress I had been sitting there for a while, and I was ready to order. My toddler was hungry.
I ordered snackers (half order) to keep my toddler content while we waited for an Olga salad (No meat on the salad- I'm including this because it didn't have to be cooked). I also order a kids meal gyro sandwich with a side of apple slices.
The manager was walking around asking people how there food was. I stopped him and told him I had been waiting for an for nearly 20 minutes. I believe the manager came back out because at some point he did tell me there were no tickets back there that had been there for 20 minutes. He stated that maybe there was a delay with the ticket being entered. (Just what you want to hear when the hungry toddler that has already ate the cheese you had in mini cooler in the diaper bag.) The waitress came out a few minutes later with the appetizer and our meals all together. I told her I didn't want the snackers because the whole point of ordering them was to have them as an appetizer. The waitress stated "(I don't cook them, and I don't have any control of that). So she was waiting for the appetizer to bring my food to the table. Obviously a young lady that has no idea of how to be a waitress. At no point when she was holding up an entire order for an appetizer did she come ask me if I wanted them, and if she didn't feel comfortable then she should have involved the manager herself. She asked if I'd like to speak to the manager. The manager came over and told me multiple times that they are the second busiest Olga's location. Number one being Lansing. (Because that makes my experience better 👎) His excuse was that even that it wasn't busy inside, but they were extremely busy with take out orders.
How long would I have waited if the restaurant had actually been busy?? If you are that busy and are aware of the problem then maybe you need more staff???
He offered to comp the bill, and I told him I would prefer to pay. I wasn't speaking with him because I wanted free food. My child and I both did eat our meals. The manager brought me out a bill. He stated he would be back to get the bill, and THEN THE MANAGER NEVER CAME BACK!!! Luckily I have a $20 bill (generally never carry cash.) I put the $20 in the billfold for a $12-13 bill , and I told a young lady at the front I left money on the table because the manager never came back.
The food was ok...a few of my sons apple slices were brown. You could taste something on the apples. I'm assuming it was some sort of citrus to prevent browning. My concern with the additive would be for someone that has a citrus allergy. (They weren't waiting on someone to slice...
Read moreI'm giving a 5 start solely because of the manager I believe her name was Martha, she was a Rockstar. I ordered door dash last night and there were 2 errors. One was the dashers mistake and the other was the restaurants. I called the store to see what they could do to help and the girl on the phone was, to put it lightly was not interested in her job or customer service. I obviously wanted the situation resolved without having to go to the restaurant directly. The girl kept telling me to call Doordarsh, which is fine, but she made no effort to even suggest I come and get the missing items and refused to refund the items that were missing. Just repeated "call door dash". So toward the end of the call I asked her name she abruptly hung up. I ended up going to the restaurant, and when I approached the counter I asked who is answering the phones and a young woman almost proudly announced that she was, and instead of trying to fix my problem she just turned her back toward me and goes "I'll go get Martha", like she gets issues with her customer service skills quite often from my impression. Martha came out, heard my side of the situation and did not hesitate to offer to remake my order completely, something which I didn't ask her to do. I just wanted to get the missing items. She assured me that it wasn't an inconvenience and apologized and said she wanted me to have fresh food. While waiting on the order the young girl, who I found out name is Kayla, questioned the manager almost upset as to why my order was being remade. I just listened as she made a significant effort for me to hear her. To sum it up, Kayla is clearly not interested in customer service or just basic respect for that matter. She seemed young and entitled and as the first face you see and personality you deal with walking in she's not the most inviting. I would just suggest maybe putting her through training again to perfect her skills or even just have her realize that customer service isn't her route in life and she should pursue another career. Again Martha turned my experience completely around and she deserves a better staff to back her up instead of creating issues for her to have to resolve. Martha 10/10,...
Read moreMy husband and I went here yesterday, International Women's Day, for lunch. They were giving away free Olga's snackers for the event. We ordered these and our lunch. Our waitress did not write our order down and I suggested it but she assured me that she had it under control. Of course our order was incomplete when it arrived to or table. We were missing one of the side dishes. Not a huge deal except it took about another 15 minutes to get it delivered to our table. We were already done with our meal at that point. The waitress was very sweet and apologized profusely and assured us it would be removed from the bill. Got the bill, and our free snackers were not free and our side dish was still on the bill. Had to wait quite a while to get the bill corrected and then she insisted on getting a coupon for the free snackers. I reminded her that they were free because of the international women's day but she at kept asking for a coupon. I was not issued a coupon when I was born a woman so I was out of luck.😄 She finally asked someone and they showed her the promo code to use for that day. Managers did not seem interested in helping any actual customers I think they were just trying to keep the kitchen together. As for the actual food, my shawarma Olga was very good. My husband's original Olga was terrible. He complained of lots of gristle or fat in the meat and could not eat much of it. This was not a one-off experience. Our last time there the food was very mediocre for the price and the service was also not great. We stayed away for a while hoping it would be better this time, but it was not. So I think we are done with Olga's unfortunately. Hope you guys get your act together for other customers, our...
