I placed an order at 11am Thursday morning to make sure I could pick up same day. By 2pm I started to get worried because I never received an email stating that my order was ready. I called the store ar 3:30pm to try and get an update. After 6 attempts of calls I kept getting hung up on. Finally by the 7th phone call I finally got someone to talk to. When she answered the phone she was completely rude telling me that if I didn't receive and email for pick up she couldn't tell me much. I explained to her that I had placed the order at 11am and her response was I've have 50 phone calls today and 15 cars outside I can't really tell you anything. I told her that I wanted to speak to a manager and her reply was i am the manager. I told her she was very rude and he response was im busy. I told her I needed to have a estimated time for the pick up because the order i had placed was for a funeral on Saturday and was having a friend help me with the project. Her response was when you get the email then you know when it's ready and hung up. I was completely upset because of her rudeness and lack of professionalism. I decided to place the same exact order but at a different michaels at 2:45pm and received an email stating my order was ready for pick up by 3:25pm. Read moreThis location is very well laid-out and has big, clearly visible signs, and everything is right where you'd think it would be... all of which make finding your goodies a lot easier and faster inside the magical world of Michael's! Haha.
The staff here is also fantastic. Everyone I've ever asked for help has been very knowledgeable of where every little thing is, and they do actually know about & understand the products. For example, when I went in a couple days ago, I was looking for watercolor supplies - I'd never done it and wanted to give it a try. So I went down the aisle with the watercolor stuff, and was comparing palettes and brushes and prices... well, one of the woman walked past at the end if the aisle, but then backed up and walked toward me, as I was holding up two brushes and wondering what the difference was. She asked if I needed any help with anything and I said "Yes please!" So she spent a good 20 minutes answering my questions and showing/explaining to me the differences between brushes and brands, and even told me not to waste my money on the expensive, well-known brand of assorted items, because they're not any better than the ones half the price!
There are also always staff members walking the floor - no never have to look for more than a minute or two to find someone to help you. I love that!

The representative Terry that I encountered displayed poor communication skills while over the phone (explaining the COVID pick-up protocols) and also displayed an unwelcoming persona upon arrival in person.
I understand that times are tough during the virus outbreak but if you don't like people you shouldn't be servicing the public. I had purchased a 48 pack acrylic set($75+) and never got confirmation of my order AT ALL via email or anything, so I had called to confirm the status a few times (I was waiting outside for over an hour) but was hung up on by a worker named "Terry". Terry proceeded to ask me can I pick up my "same day pick up order" the following day.. which defeats the point of the same day pick up??? she also had a fellow colleague come to the car and handle our order in the most rushed and rude manner..
I honestly believe they don't like working with People Of Color because i saw them handle other people just fine.They both told me that I had only purchased "one item" and it wasn't that big of an issue.... Its definitely a big issue when I had already placed the order that equaled up to over 10+ items.. After all the hassle and fuss I received my paint set but I will never return again because of the treatment...
