I have been coming to this location since the day it opened. It is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in the world, and I constantly reccomend it to anyone who asks where they can get the best pizza. On March 14th, I convinced my entire family to eat there for "Pie Day." from beginning to end, we were all treated poorly, especially me. After ordering my pizza, I asked the kid that made it if I could get mine cooked just a little longer (something I always do). He said yes, but he was new, and busy with other things, so when I finished paying I went to the guy who was cutting the pizzas and asked him the same thing, just to make sure it was known that I wanted my pizza cooked a little longer. I don't know his name, but he is pretty tall, wears glasses, a baseball hat, and has a beard and sort of shaggy hair. When I asked him about cooking my pizzas longer he responded, "um, no." and that was it. No explanation, no attempt to apologize for being unable to fulfill my request, just "no." I actually thought he was joking because he and the rest of the staff kind of know who I am since I am a very loyal customer. So I asked "oh, really?" and he said "yea." I said "oh, why not?" because I have asked this many times and it has never been a problem in the past, and he said in a put out tone "because we only have one oven and there's a lot of pizzas backed up." so I said "so you can't just cook it for one extra minute?" and he said, again in an unkind, unapologetic tone "definitely not for one minute." so I said, "well, is there anything you can do to cook them a little longer?" and he said in a matter-of-fact, unkind way, "I could put them in back through the front of the oven, but then they would come out burnt to a crisp." So I walked away without saying a word to this incredibly rude man who treated me like I was a problem for asking if I could get my pizza customized at a pizza place that prides itself on customization.
I want to be clear, I am not so upset that they may have been unable to cook my pizza longer because of how busy they were. I am upset by the way in which it was explained to me, when I didn't start off with a rude tone or something like that. I am always kind to the staff. Even when my order is wrong, I explain nicely what the problem was. I never act upset at a mistake or anything else, so the fact that my kindness was met with "um, no", and not "Oh, I am so sorry, we can't today because we just have too many orders and the oven doesnt have enough room in it for me to push it back for a longer cook this time. Sorry about that!" is unacceptable. This location seems to think that customers are a problem and not a privilege.
They also, instead of calling out a name for an order while they were busy, called out "crispy thin pepperoni." My mom ordered that pizza. She went up to get it, and so did another young man, since, you know, pepperoni is the most popular pizza order of all time. My mother let the young man have it because she assumed he knew that he ordered it first. But, she was wrong. That kid came in there after we did. Not his fault, he didn't realize it either. But, when my mom said to the guy cutting pizza (the same guy I had a problem with) that she thinks that boy got her pizza, he said nothing. Multiple times, she tried to tell him that her pizza was given away to someone else, and he would not look at her or respond to her. What a rude, rude, rude man. Again, thinking customers are a problem and not a privilege. I brought my whole family to that restaurant, and because of that, and people like me, he has a job. Instead of being grateful for that, he is spiteful.
This is the same location that posted up a condescending sign about how we are all being punished because some people have been stealing the seasoning shakers, so the shakers are no longer available except for behind the counter. That's ridiculous, and probably a lie. If it's true, it's probably only true because teenagers think it's funny to steal something that they have such harsh rules about...
Read moreWhen I moved to Texas in 2016 from CT I thought I would never taste good pizza again. Out if all of the places I've eaten pizza here in Texas I disliked all of them. Texas is known for beef and CT is world renowned for pizza so I grew up spoiled. But that all changed on a whim. My girlfriend asked me to find a place to eat(which was a monumental task in and of itself) and I saw pie five then I looked it up and saw what it was about and said let's go here and thankfully she agreed. So we went in and I was taken aback. The numerous toppings the heavenly smell I was in paradise. Then when I found out it was unlimited toppings I was delirious. And believe me when I tell you I went all in I had 12 toppings on my pizza! It surprisingly held together. It was cooked in a few minutes to perfection. They sprinkled a little of what they called magic dust on top and I was good to go. I sat down and admired the beauty of this masterpiece for a few minutes then I took a bite and I was in nirvana I was filled with a rainbow of light and a kaleidoscope if flavors in my mouth that somehow all worked in unison to deliver maximum flavortude to my tastebuds. I happily chowed down until an unfamiliar sensation took over me that I have never experienced before with a personal pizza. What was this feeling might you ask. Well I was only halfway done 3 slices in and I was full! Once again I was taken aback by this foreign and strange but pleasant sensation. I then knew right there and then I have found my holy grail of pizza in Texas and from that day and forever forth I knew I had found my pizza spot!!!! (P.S. their wings are also top notch and a good size and their cinnamon sticks are to die for. And they have many more items...
Read moreI’m not one to typically write reviews, but I believe my experience needs to be heard. I love PieFive and the food, and normally the service is pretty good. But today, I went in around 1PM, ordered my pizza, paid, and asked for a water cup. I went to the drink fountain to get soda water, which for those who don’t know, it’s literally just carbonated water. A few moments later, I heard a male employee (most likely a manager or shift lead) screaming at me from across the store about how my drink isn’t water. I was utterly confused so I dumped my drink out and began to fill it with soda water again, but I got screamed at. AGAIN. After that, I just dumped the cup, filled it with ice, and sat at my table. After this entire situation, I heard the employee belittling me amongst other customers saying how I’m stealing from the store and scamming them. Not only was I humiliated in front of an entire store, for doing NOTHING wrong, I was left with a horrible and degrading experience. This was an act of defamation and I will not be returning until this employee is fired. I saw that another reviewer, Scarlett Huang, also faced customer service troubles recently. The male employee (I believe he was Caucasian and looked 20 to 30 years old) is probably the same person. Management needs to do something about this employee immediately. Whoever manages these comments, please reach out to me to get this situation...
