Well. Sunday morning; not feeling like cooking or eating oatmeal or just a bagel with cheese. What do you do on early Sunday morning in McKinney? Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory, of course! My first time here. First good impressions, as the place was clean and organized. After finding the order counter, I ordered a Huevos Rancheros plate. I had a Gift Card I received in the mail for a taco, so I ordered a Huevos con Chorizo Taco also. I paid for my order, proceeded to get coffee, and sat down. It was early Sunday, so there was little traffic; only 3-4 other patrons were there. I also got some salsa and Pico de Gallo. So far, so good. After a few minutes, my order ready was called, and I picked it up. Not the Huevos Rancheros I was expecting, nor anything close to Huevos Rancheros I have ever seen (and I have seen a few - from the disastrous to the exquisite), but I am never afraid to embark on a culinary adventure, regardless of the risks. Certainly not the Huevos Rancheros at Tejas Taco House, and by far the atmosphere. I am sure you are thinking, lord, all this blah blah to speak about a plate of Huevos Rancheros, a simple breakfast! But NO! You see, it takes planning, thought, perception, careful observation, and optimum taste buds to discern the unique qualities and subtle differences between one Huevo Ranchero and another! These are skills that your taste buds acquire through years of experience tasting the great and the horrible! Yes, indeed; I had to endure the incredible and horrifying experience of tasting a bad taco! But also, I have had the privilege of pleasing my taste buds with the enriching flavors of the divine. Yes, you can only achieve such heights by taking the necessary risks to venture into the world of culinary diversity. OK, got a little excited there... But please tell me, how do you know what is good if you don't try it? So in closing, how was the Huevos Rancheros? Not what I expected, but good. The meal was wholesome and tasty, more on the Tex-Mex side than Real Mexican, but it was good. The coffee was good and fresh; the tortillas were fresh, made right on site. The potatoes with Chorizo that accompanied the "Huevos Rancheros" were excellent. Not many places open at 6:30 am on Sunday; many Mexican restaurants forget the early bird clientele. Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory in Allen, TX is a good place to get breakfast, it is clean and nicely decorated, and the food is good. Your experience may differ when you stop in for yourself. After all, that is what life is about, the experiences we have as individuals and what we make of them. For me, this Sunday was positive at Rosa's Café. Thank you, Rosa's Café, and thank you for...
Read moreWe have had terrible experiences with this location. For my birthday my husband tried to surprise me with a small dinner with my family and tried to call in days ahead to get the order placed, but was told that he only needed to call in about an hour before he planned to pick up the order. Well, he called a couple of hours prior and when my sister went to pick up the order they told her it wasn't ready yet, so she waited. She waited 45 mins past the time we told them we needed the order. Then my husband went up to relieve her and when he asked to speak with the manager, he wouldn't even come out to talk to my husband. My elderly parents were at my home and had been waiting to eat for over 2 hours. One is a diabetic. They had lost our order and had to start from scratch, but no one relayed that. We would've just gone somewhere else. And all the girl at the counter did was give us a $15 gift card. I called the corporate office later that week and the district manager was supposed to reach out and never did. So, since we have had this gift card foe a couple of months I decided to give them another try for dinner tonight. I called in my order and sent my son to pick it up and when he got there, they said they didn't have an order under the name I gave them. This place is so unorganized and their management is a joke. It's unfortunate because we really like their food, but I will not...
Read moreI really enjoy there breakfast tacos. I go get some at least once or 2 twice a week but today was the icying on the cake. I know it’s human to mess up orders but every time I go there, their is this one chick who ALWAYS messes up my order without failure. Its been a year and I would think she would get it by now.. So I order customized breakfast tacos and I get the same thing every time because me and my partner both have allergies. I can’t have egg and he can’t have cheese. I give them my order and most of the time the employee working the window has no issues, except for this one chick. She worked the drive thru window Sunday morning 4/24/22 I don’t know her name but it’s always her. So I kindly went back to the window and explained to her that my order was incorrect. She said she will fix it. She came out to give me my order and it was still messed up the exact same way as it was before. It’s like she waited a minute then came back with the same tacos we couldn’t eat due to our allergies. At this point I was extremely annoyed and had my man go into the restaurant and make sure they were correct. I don’t like to leave reviews like this but this location needs to retrain or reposition this one employee to something she can handle because it’s been an entire year, I have been dealing with this issue and employee. I really like there tacos and spend lots of money here, but this issue needs to...
