I've never been to an Indian restaurant where the food was so good, I gorged myself and was absolutely stuffed by the time I walked out. My only regret was not having room for dessert.
The flavors in the food were outstanding. The range of flavors were phenomenal and you can tell each dish is unique. I've been to other restaurants where it tastes like all the food is made together or similarly, but this is not the case here.
We ordered several platters and those were great samplers of multiple food types. I highly recommend that to people who are new to the experience or Indian food in general. We had a group of seven and we were seated in the larger room to the side, which worked well.
We have several friends from Southern India and we're used to their style but this is clearly Northern food and not as spicy. It's a great latent spice and really good.
Service was great - several of the people there are family members and it shows. They even went so far as to tell us the history of some of the dishes and how everything is made. I really liked it and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We don't come to Amarillo very often but I'm going to have to put this on my list for places to visit. I'm writing this and salivating as I think about the tandoor chicken wings and mango lassi. Oof and the naan and the kebab were spot on. I could eat the garlic naan all day.
This is definitely one of those authentic restaurants I want to see become...
Read moreI thought the food was absolutely delicious. The chef himself came out and recommended the three of us try three different dishes so we could explore the menu a little bit. He did not steer us wrong: I had the chicken Jalfrezi, and my two companions had chicken tikka marsala And the Dheli style- butter chicken. All 3 delicious! The waiter is new but is learning; For instance, he didn’t ask If we wanted something besides water to drink, but he was very quick to keep our water refilled. My friend ordered samosas, Which were also delicious; but he didn’t recommend to increase our order from 2 to 3 so we could all have one. The chef fixed us up with a third though! The Naan was yummy as well . So far the printed menu is pretty basic: There are no descriptions of the food items; and I’m fairly new to Indian food so I had to Google a lot of dishes. I hope this changes in the future. They’ve done a decent job with the inside of the old Braceros and the table place settings look nice. When we first walked in, I could only hear some chanting music coming from a corner of the restaurant, but they finally turned on some pleasant Indian music. The prices were great Especially for the delicious food. I will definitely return and get the chefs recommendation for three more dishes that I haven’t yet tried. I’m sad. I didn’t take any photos before we started digging...
Read moreUpon entering the establishment, the dining tables were all clean from what I could tell and the silverware and glasses were set neatly. I ordered an order of Butter Chicken, and Garlic Naan, it took approximately 5 minutes or so to arrive to the table. Tasting the Butter chicken, it did have some spiciness to it, which is good but should be a little more mild. I don't mind the spiciness since I eat Indian food all the time to get more used to it for my partners culture/religion. The Garlic naan, was a little thin, which is normal but should have maybe a little more thickness to it in my opinion. Unfortunately I did not order some tea like I wanted but I will next time. The chef also came out and greeted himself and asked how everything was. He was also helping other people who have never had indian food, help them with some decisions. This place gets a 5/5 for me, the food is excellent, the server was very polite and did not rush me into any decisions. I will return...
