Today, I visited this establishment with my six year old daughter. Because we were hungry of course. I knew once I stood in line. There were two cashiers on a Sunday evening I knew things would be wrong. Ed this assistant manager was one of the cashiers and the other was a girl named unknown. I waited in line for about 10 minutes being next in line. As she finished with her customer I approached she says he will be with you in a second I said okay. The phone was ringing like crazy. Ed finishes with his customer so I approached he answers the phone and says sorry I need to take this that's why I didn't call you forward yet. Right as he says that the girl comes back to help the next customer that was behind me. Ed says help him while he's still on the phone she didn't hear so Ed tells the customer on the phone to hold so he can help me. Keep in mind I waited in line for 10 minutes about 15 people behind me it takes my order and I go and take my seat. Me and my daughter play games for about 20 minutes then I say let's go to the table so we can eat. I noticed that everyone in the building was eating. I said to myself where's mine Meanwhile my child is repeatedly saying here comes our food because waitresses are walking by with food not ours. I asked this guy named Daniel and Asian kid who works there can he check on my order he says yes and never return but he walked by me twice so I asked another waitress she says okay she came back right away and said what did you order I told her what I ordered and to ask the assistant manager he's the one that took my order. Ed comes over and says sorry sorry let me see what's going on so I went with him. The girl I look she is getting my order in order it talks to her and she says I got it I'll take care of it Ed comes to the table with my food I asked for a full refund and then gave Ed a piece of my mind like why are your workers walking by seeing that my number is still here and I haven't got my food. Ed is saying how sorry he is and things are screwed up let me help you he says Ed gives us a full refund and a complimentary meal and keep trying to please us the whole time I waited was an hour and a half this whole crew needs to be trained and customer service and checking in on their customers. I told Ed that I will let my daughter eat some of this food and then we will be leaving I appreciate that guy for taking everyone's mistakes and making them his.....he is the only reason ....why I will be returning to this place for a second chance.. my real opinion about this was that everyone in this place was Hispanic and I wasn't but my child is half Hispanic and black need I say more ed made me feel differently cuz at first I thought it was all racist never in my life was service...
Read moreI hardly ever feel the need to write a review but the service at this location was so terrible it compelled me to write one... Management please tell your staff that when there is a line of customers at the register, they should stop talking about how terrible their coworkers are and serve the clients waiting at the register. I along with another gentleman watched while two ladies talk on and on by the salad bar, we had stood there for about 10mins while these employees shoot-the-breeze even while looking over and clearly seeing us there waiting to be served yet carried on chatting with each other till finally they finished their conversation and moved one of them came over to serve us.
The gentlemen ahead of me had his order of wings messed up after claiming to have told staff what he wanted twice yet they still managed to get his order wrong and demanded a refund. That should've have been a clear sign to leave and get my money's worth at another pizza place, but I wanted to give them a chance... HUGE mistake. After taking my order I was told my name would be called once my pizza was ready. I sat across from the kitchen waiting and watching the same girl who took my order returned to jabbering with other employees back in the kitchen I watched as my pizza came out of the oven and get placed in the hot box behind the register, and the girl who I suspect is responsible for notify me was preoccupied telling her very important story to her colleagues not even noticing I was waiting till ofcourse I got and saw me approach the counter then hurried to get my pizza.
I like to say the pizza itself was worth the wait but once I got home and took a slice out of the box the center was still raw dough. I guess the kitchen chefs were too enthralled with the cashier's story to put adequate effort to ensure a clients pizza comes out...
Read moreI was AMAZED at how good the food was. My daughter and I left the park for the day around 8:30 PM because we were tired and very hungry, and wanted something different to eat than what could be had in the park (both of us), and less pricey (me). We found that many of the establishments nearby were closing at 9:00, but found that Shakey's was open until 10:00. I literally hadn't eaten at Shakey's in decades and that was probably a lunch buffet, but we reluctantly decided to give it a try because we wanted pizza, it was near the park, and it was open. I cautioned her that since the location was so near the park it likely catered to tourists rather than locals, therefore they probably wouldn't care about their quality, service, or repeat business. Boy was I wrong. We ordered a Firehouse special pizza and the Family Antipasto Salad. The salad was fresh and a great value compared to each of us getting a salad bar. We had plenty of salad leftover for the next day. The pizza was incredible! The toppings (meats, veggies, and cheeses) were delicious and top notch quality. The red sauce had great tomato flavor and was spiced just right for my taste (comparable to Round Table red sauce which I like). The surprise was the crust which was thin and crunchy. I had forgotten how well a thin crust complements the toppings without overwhelming the flavor of the rest of the pizza. I will also add that the staff was mostly attentive, the dining room was large, open, and welcoming, and the tables were still being cleaned up even though we were there an hour before closing. When I'm back in Anaheim I will definitely revisit...
