I have been to Da Vinci's several times, and know that the service will always be extremely slow, if not non-existent.
However, this review is concerning the so-called "pizza buffet" that really shouldn't require any service.
The website CLEARLY states (copied and pasted directly from their website), "Lunch Pizza Buffet 11am-3pm daily $6.49," but you will find that this simply isn't true! We arrived at 1:20 and were seated; the waitress asked if we were having the buffet - I said yes. I knew that new pizza would come out soon because there were only a few slices left on the buffet and all looked like they had already been there for half an hour.
We eat a couple of the old slices while waiting for more...and none comes out. After 15 minutes, I asked if any new would be coming out, and the waitress says that the buffet ends at 2 and no new pizza would be coming out - this means that no new pizza was probably put out since 1:00!!
I tell her that this is unacceptable, and she says that since it is "so close to 2:00, they couldn't make any more!"
I asked for a partial refund, and she says her manager isn't there and she can't do it. Finally, someone else come out who can, and he gives me (drumroll, please...) a $1 discount!!
We ended up eating less than two slices each (almost everything that was left!) from this so-called buffet and while we tried to eat some salad, someone had mixed together many of the ingredients in the bins making it also unacceptable. I WON'T BE BACK!
I have also had the exact same problem on the "buffet nights" when NO pizza is on the buffet even though it is written on their website and menu.
If you want to wait an hour or more for your Italian food with poor service, then Da Vinci's is for you - but if you want a buffet...GO...
Read moreTonight was our first visit to Da Vinci's and we won't be back. It was a huge disappointment! First, my salad was made with old lettuce. My sisters looked better. I ordered a Supreme pizza without sausage and green peppers. It looked appetizing, but the first bite was bad because he had left off the desired mushrooms, but not the sausage as requested. I cannot eat sausage. I was polite, but told the waitress I couldn't eat it. I requested another one without sausage. I even had my sister taste it to see if she agreed that it was sausage and not ground beef. She said it was definitely sausage. It had a lot on it too. The waitress took it back to the kitchen. My sister saw the cook arguing with the waitress. She reluctantly brought the same pizza back and said he said it was ground beef, not sausage. It was 100% sausage! My sisters calzone with ground beef tasted totally different. I finally asked to have it removed from my check as I couldn't eat it. They never offered to cook another or serve me something else. It was the sweet waitresses first night and it was not her fault. The other more seasoned waitress and cook (? owner) never said a word. Talk about NO customer service. I left after eating the good parts of my salad and ate something when I got home. This was the worst customer service I have encountered! They need to do better and should be ashamed. I will never recommend this...
Read moreI will never go back again. I've been going there with my young daughter for a few months now, we love the steak calzone and get it to share since it's made for more than one person. We went yesterday and ordered the large calzone for $14 which is clearly made for at least 3 people (we usually get the smaller one which can still feed 2 people easy). The waitress whom I think is also an owner brings the bill and shows me a $2.00 charge for sharing a plate. What! Are you kidding, I order an expensive calzone that is again clearly made to feed more than two people and they add a plate sharing charge that she refuses to take off and blames on them (whoever they are). What a lousy way to treat customers and just plain bad business. I had become a regular customer, but that was the last time I will ever go back there! We'll stick with Peppino's in Clemson, at least they are friendly and fair. Oh and my mother was with us as well, she ordered a meatball parm for $6.99 and what she gets is a tiny sandwich with a few microscopic meatballs in it, it is barely luke warm so I tell her to ask the waitress to heat it up. Waitress comes over and mom does just that and the waitress looks at her like she's got 3 heads and responds in a very condescending tone- I've gotten better service and sandwiches at Subway. ...
