As someone who has worked in the service industry for several years I consider myself to be very understanding. However, this was by far the worst service I have ever experienced. We arrived around 6:20pm, requested to sit in a booth. All of the booths were dirty (it wasn’t very busy so there was plenty of time to bus and wipe down tables). The host did wipe one down for us and got us seated. We sat for about 15mins before anyone even approached us to ask for a drink order. Our server, Niya, finally walked over and said “sorry we were out of silverware so I rolled some for you”. There were 3 of us…and I’m pretty sure grabbing our drinks and greeting us should come before getting silverware but ok.
At this point we gave our drink order and food order to her. We ordered soup and salad, an order of snackers, and a kids meal for my 2yr old. We sat for another 10-15mins before the drinks even came! It was to the point I literally forgot we didn’t even have them yet. We waited another 20mins at least for her to come back, she brought our daughter her olga sandwhich and us our snackers and salads. She set them down and said it would be 4mins on our soup. Ok. 10mins goes by, we look over she’s by the computer on her phone. 15mins I finally get up to take my daughter to the bathroom and walked up to ask if maybe the soup was forgotten? Niya tells me she’s making the soup now. Ok.
By the time we get back from the bathroom the soup is there but at this point my kid has eaten and is ready to go. My husband is so frustrated he just wants to leave. Meanwhile, a sheriff at another table walked up to try and get service because they had been there for at least 15mins with no drinks. Overall we were there for over an hour and a half. No sense of urgency at all by this server. She let other tables just sit there for soo long without even being greeted. She walked nonchalantly through the restaurant without a care in the world. The service really needs some major improvement. It was...
Read moreOlga's used to be one of my favorite places. We would regularly eat at the Toledo, Oh. location for years. Then, they closed this location. Sometimes I would just eat the Olga salad & a piece of fat free Olga bread as my dinner. The salad always had a wonderful light dressing...not light in calories, just not an overwhelming heavy dressing. Other times, it would be an Olga burger & cheese with a small side Olga salad. Then, the scourge of the world hit. We tried a takeout Olga's from a location in Monroe, Mi. That was rather disappointing...Now that the state of Mi. is mostly open from Covid, we thought we would visit the Ann Arbor location that used to be in a mall. Major disappointment. It was no longer in this location...& the few stores that were still there didn't open until after 11 a.m. That governor sure screwed that state up! Anyway, we found another location. First of all...no more burgers. So I opted for the original Olga plus. It came with the small Olga salad & fries. I also had what was supposed to be fresh squeezed lemonade. It was so syrupy sweet...definitely not natural sugar. Almost undrinkable. The lamb in the Olga was so strong tasting that my husband took some of his out. The Olga bread that it was wrapped in was doughy & seemed different from the old recipe. It even got mushy with the ingredients inside of it. The Olga salad, now comes to the table with the dressing on the side. I am sure this is not the same dressing that was used years ago as it appeared to be whitish & somewhat creamy. Tasted just OK. I hate rating this a 3 but actually, I will never go back. Just reminds me of the old adage, If it ain't broke,...
Read moreUpon leaving the restaurant, unable to speak with a manager- Service was awful 😢 we (2) came in honor of "Women's Day"- girl's night out- from Ohio, told we'd have to wait, went on the list, watched a family of 4 be seated ahead of us, when we asked if we were overlooked, "not sure who's overseeing the seating" was the answer given by the same person who put us on the list. According to server - who was so worried about telling us how "busy" they were anytime we voiced a concern, as we were finally being seated, noted 3 staff folding silverware, at least 8 tables were open for seating, and as many as 8 more tables were uncleared-- that was the view we had while being told how busy they were after we weren't able to get any Snackers, salad was prepared incorrect-just a basic request- "dressing on the side"- original Olga had barely a teaspoon of sauce, upon being told they're preparing Snackers, we asked for an order, which never came, to be told at the end- " we ran out because of the promotion!" - server wasted no time addressing our check, what a sad and disappointing experience. Couldn't tell if any one was even in charge, never given the opportunity to get the attention of the manager. The Arnold Palmer was fresh, after getting the sauce for the original Olga it was tasty, fresh - delicious, the turkey Olga was dry, salads were fresh, white balsamic dressing was a pleasant tasting surprise... Pheasant soup and Broccoli soups we're both flavorful and...
