The Garage Bar — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

First off, the food was very good. Margarita pizza for my wife and I and burgers for our guests. However, the menu prices are very deceptive and just downright strange. A margarita pizza back home has one price, the one in the menu. But here the price shows 15.99 and when the bill comes the pizza, 12", cost 25.00. We were told that each item on the pizza is an up charge. So a margarita pizza is not a margarita pizza unless you pay extra for each item. So maybe oregano is an up charge? I suggest pricing for specialty pizzas on the menu be 25 dollars so one is not snookered at bill time. The burgers also had crazy pricing. You get two items on your burger but when adding for onions and pickles there were up charges on these items. Why? Because the burgers came with tomato and lettuce which were the two items, though these weren't requested. Thus pickles and onions are extra. Are we cheap? No! We just want the pricing on the menu to be up front and accurate. I have eaten in many restaurants in my life and this menu pricing was one that I have not encountered before. When I saw the name was "Garage Bar," I thought to myself, "hmmmmmmmmmmm." However, after handing the bouncer my fake ID and walking "in" (it is an open air bar), I quickly realized how amazing my experience was about to be. Before you report this review, please understand that I gave them my real ID which states that I am nearly 30 years old. For some reason I thought it might be funny to pretend I was underage.

The fire pit they had was actually very helpful because it was unseasonably cold. I must admit, I put too much cash into the music thing. I also chose two songs that were over 20 minutes long.

The bouncer that's always out front is literally awful. Constantly rude as hell and likes instigating issues with young, paying customers. I had been to Garbage Bar multiple times and he always rudely questioned me and my ID, implying that I'm underage using a fake. I'm 22 with a very real, enhanced Michigan ID that is quite obviously me. Aside from facial features alone I have bright purple hair. There's no faking this... LOL. His power trip working at a college bar is just strange all around.
