Blowfish Poké Hawaiian Grill — Restaurant in Annapolis

My husband recently came back from a business trip in Hawaii, and when he came home, all he could talk about was poké! So, when we saw this restaurant in Annapolis, we knew we had to give it a try.

We were fortunate to find parking nearby, which is always a bonus in downtown Annapolis!

When we walked into the restaurant, the gentleman at the counter greeted us promptly. We had not done any research about the layout prior, so we were surprised to see it was counter service, and not a sit down restaurant. However, that was fine.

The restaurant was very clean and welcoming.

My husband ordered The Loco moco and he said it was very good. The egg was prepared perfectly, and it was a decent portion. He probably could’ve eaten a larger portion, however :-)

I ordered a poke bowl with tuna and crab salad. I topped it with sunflower seeds, edamame, and an avocado lime sauce. It was delicious! The flavors melted very well together and the portion was just right. However, next time I think I will get the larger size so I have some to take home!

We will definitely be back again because the menu has a lot of different stuff on it that we would like to try.

I  am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to your establishment, Honesty, on June 1st 2025. I had high expectations based on your restaurant’s reputation, but my experience fell significantly short in several key areas.

Firstly, the Mac salad was notably bland and lacked any distinctive flavor, which was quite underwhelming. More concerning was the BBQ short rib dish. It was advertised as “bone-in,” yet the meat was served without any bones. The cut appeared to be simply a thicker portion of the BBQ mix plate, but at a higher price point. This discrepancy between the menu description and what was served felt misleading and unjustified, especially considering the additional charge for what was essentially the same meat.

Additionally, during our meal, my family and I were repeatedly interrupted by a staff member or manager. The constant interruptions made it difficult for us to enjoy our food and have a comfortable dining experience.

These issues have left us dissatisfied and reluctant to return or recommend your restaurant to others. I kindly request that you review these matters with your team to ensure that menu descriptions accurately reflect what is served, pricing is fair, and guests are allowed to enjoy their meals without unnecessary...
