My boyfriend and I were looking for a brunch spot in Annapolis and decided to give them a try. It was nice and clean inside but kinda dim and dark. We wanted to sit outside, but Unfortunately the outside area was closed (not sure why).
Anyways we decided to try the steak and eggs off the brunch menu. Per the menu, it comes with 6 oz steak, eggs, breakfast potatoes bacon and toast. I figured how could I go wrong with steak and eggs… right? Well it was the worst steak I ever ate. It was boiled and looks like they threw it on a grill just to give it the grill look. Or it could be that it was cooked the day before and just heated up. It was not fresh and was soft like it was boiled in water. Not sure what was going on with it but it was so bad and when I tried it, I immediately spit it out (see pic). I could not bear to chew it nor swallow it. On top of that, they had it sitting in a sauce that was not at all disclosed in the menu description. The sauce was nasty as well.
The potatoes were not crispy and fresh. They were soft and boiled and tasted like they were just heated up from yesterday. I hated to complain to the waitress but there was absolutely no way I was going to not inform them. The waitress was very nice but not as attentive as she should have been ( lacking refills). She offered to change my meal for something else so I got the 2 egg breakfast which came with all the same stuff. Ughh that was nasty too but I just ate a few eggs, the toast and that’s it. Even the bacon was nasty which is rare to experience but it was.
Ughhh nothing was on point. Waste of time and money and left hungry and not satisfied. On top of it all, we were overcharged for the bacon that came with the meal. Luckily I realized it and pointed it out. She charged us a side of bacon when it came with the meal. Not sure what that was about but if I did not pay attention to receipt, I wouldn’t have even known. Not sure how that mistake could’ve been made if it clearly comes with the meal but the waitress refunded it (In cash tho) since it was noticed after we paid. Just not a good experience. I’d recommend only for drinks but do not order food here or you will be...
Read moreThis place was down right awful. The food is so expensive for the quality you receive. The service was horrible, long times without seeing the waiter and waters empty even after asking for more. My fiancé and I went to dinner with friends at O’Briens and had a few drinks at the table. We then decided to move over to the bar to have a few more drinks. The bartender asks for our ID’s which is perfectly fine, we are 23 and 24 so this was pretty normal. The bartender then takes my fiancés ID over to the manager, which we were confused about but it is an out of state ID so fine. The manager then comes over and tells my fiancé that his ID was fake and he wouldn’t be serving us. Keeping in mind that we are 23 and 24 so we were a bit shocked. We proceeded to try and tell him we are definitely of age and even tried to show a second form. We tried explaining to him we just ate dinner in their dining section and had our ID’s checked by our waiter. He still was very rude and told us that we had to leave their bar. The ID was never scanned, all he used was a black light and his very little knowledge of out of state ID’s. This seems to be a common issue at this bar as it happened to another women not 10 minutes after us.
I never write reviews on places but how the manager handled this situation was down right rude. I guess moral of this is, if you have an out of state ID don’t even bother. We ended up at 1771 and that place is awesome!! With bouncers that understand federal ID’s.
I wish I could give zero stars. Actually...
Read moreI stopped here for brunch with a few friends who were visiting from out of town. We were greeted right as we entered and was sat right away. About two minutes after we were sat, the manager came over to greet us to make sure everything was okay, which I thought was great. However, that was the last time we saw him and things started to decline rather quickly.
Our waitress came over and seemed less than enthused to be there. She was not by any means rude, but you could tell she did not want to be there and was not very pleasant. One of us ordered avocado toast with poached eggs, to which she replied, they did not have. This is odd considering it says it comes with poached eggs and they also offer eggs benedict that also has poached eggs. Anyway the food came out quickly and it was just okay. We ordered avocado toast, avocado hash and the 2 eggs breakfast with a pancake. The pancake was thin and crispy, the home fries were cold, overly salted and mushy. Everything else wad edible. We didn't see our waitress again until it came time for the check, no drinks were refilled our entire time there. The cherry on top of the experience was towards the end of our meal, a baby roach ran across the top of our table. We were done eating after that. I understand restaurants, food, and pests but seeing it ON our table, not knowing where it came from was not okay. Also, we could see the waitresses garnishing the bloody mary's with their bare hands after handling cash/closing...
