This is an incredible coffee and breakfast spot! My wife and I have traveled and lived all over the country. Our mission when traveling or moving somewhere new is to locate THE coffee spot for the area. I’m talking about that shop that’s got coffee done by baristas who truly know how to craft drinks, using ingredients that are thoughtfully sourced and high quality beans, roasted just right. THIS is the shop to find that in Appleton and the surrounding region.
The coffee is delicious, meticulously crafted, and you MUST check out the baristas faves special creations menu. And pro tip: if the coffee shop mentions that it is a roastery, their coffee is probably phenomenal, and ACOCA is no exception!
Next the food: WOW!!!! I’m not sure who’s back there cooking, but the dishes are phenomenally designed, and everything is cooked to perfection. This isn’t a place to gorge on plain breakfast foods. This is a place to enjoy and experience thoughtfully crafted dishes with incredible flavors that leave you highly satisfied. Worth every cent! My gosh the potatoes are amazing!!!
Finally, customer service was wonderful. A gentleman came and spoke with me and my family… I believe his name was Russ. He was non intrusive but engaging. All staff were professional, inviting, respectful, and friendly. This lent to an atmosphere with the decor and seating that is welcoming and restful whether you’re looking for a meeting spot, remote work away from home, chill with the family, or a date spot!
All in all, ACOCA is absolutely the place to be and my family...
Read moreDriven by this coffee shop many times and never stopped until I did on a Sunday morning. I wish I stopped a lot sooner. This is one awesome coffee shop! The layout is perfect. They have lots of couches and chairs along with tables to sit at. They also have two tables outside. They have a shelf of boardgames meaning they dont care if you actually take a seat and stay a while.
Coffee- Coffee is some of the most delicious coffee I have had. I ordered the Chai Tea with Espresso and it was perfect. I also got a light roast coffee with cream the next day. All of their coffee is pour over meaning that they grind enough beans for your cup of coffee and then pour the hot water over the freshly ground beans. So, you get the freshest coffee with the most flavor.
Food- They have a lot of freshly baked goods. I should have paid attention to who makes them but the muffins are where its at. The barista made a comment that she finally tried one after working their for a few months and finally discovered why they always sold out. I also can see why as I wanted to eat all of them.
Service- Service was fantastic. Even being pour over which understandably does take a little bit of extra time I got my coffee quickly.
If you want a fantastic coffee shop in downtown Appleton, this is one of the good ones. I will make this one of my regular coffee...
Read moreI used to love this place and come here all the time, everything here is exceptional for most people- the food, drinks, the people, the cafe itself.
What ruins the experience for me, however, is the Wi-fi. It has been bad for years and seems to only be getting worse. The Wi-fi constantly cuts out, and is slow to begin with.
In a time where most cafes have speeds of 100mbps+, Wi-fi is not something to cut corners on for customers. There is a specific Wi-fi for customers so I assume the ownership/management simply doesn't use it and isn't aware.
I doubt I'm the only person to ever say anything about it, but I don't see a lot of people on their laptops here (returning for first time in a year or so) so it's possible most of the people who do spend time on their laptops avoid Acoca.
I would recommend to management to try and spend time on their laptops on the customer Wi-fi, especially during the weekday (it is currently 1:16 pm on Friday October 25th as I write this) over by the windows on the "Acocacustomer" network. Happy to amend my review if the Wi-fi...
