A pretty nice restaurant. The restaurant is split in two, one half is for hibachi and the other half is for the sushi bar. I dined in the latter. I won't go in to too much detail but the sushi was OK. You could taste a hint of the cooking wine/rice vinegar in the sushi rice and a similar story goes for the fish (these are good things.) Personally I like that flavor to be stronger but that's up to personal preference. TL;DR below. The setting is great and really sets the mood. Check the included pictures. The waitress was nice and helped us pick our roles. Great service and environment! The Red Dragon was great. If I remember correctly I could taste cream cheese, salmon, fish puree (tuna I think,) and something else; the crunch and cucumber added some great texture/resistance that contrasted the rice and fish puree. Everything fit together perfectly in my opinion. The Geisha's Kiss felt a little confused. It was supposed to be a interesting sweet and spicy role with crunch, but fell a little flat. Specifically it needed to be just a little sweeter at the top and the spice needed to be a little stronger (I'm pretty sensitive to spicy food and I had to concentrate to feel it.) There was also a collection of what tasted like veggies under the slice of strawberry, but in my opinion the flavor didn't belong in this role. I feel that with more emphasis on the sweetness at the top, making the spicy bit at the bottom more noticeable, and by replacing the out of place veggie flavor with flavors that match well with the sweet/spicy contrast, you have a great role that starts out spicy at the bottom and changes to sweet + (whatever flavors they choose, ) as the spiciness gets dulled out by the other ingredients while chewing, becoming a subtle kick. I think a fatty fish would be a good replacement for the veggies but I'm no chef. That being said I personally can't recommend the role as-is, but maybe that's because it was just not made for me. The salmon and tuna were standard. Nothing to say here. The tuna role is a rough puree. I unfortunately can't recommend the white tuna. I love eating this in NYC but it's different here. I had it in a role though so perhaps the sashimi would use better cuts. TL;DR/Summery: The restaurant has a great vibe/aesthetics and the staff are great. The roles can be hit and miss but if you know which roles are good this is a great place for a date/night out. Try the Red Dragon!

5 Stars for Sushi… 2 Stars for Hibachi… 🍣 This is our go-to sushi place if we want to sit down and dine in! Great prices, great portions! The service is consistent and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. 👨🏻🍳🍤🥩🍚 The hibachi however is a different story. We’ve been to several different chain’s or hibachi restaurants around the country (and world), and they all tastes relatively similar! Never in my life have I disliked hibachi until here. Our hibachi chef was funny, but that was the only good part. It’s a 2.5 hour commitment—too long, once your whole table is seated! We left early and skipped the ice cream dessert. All the food was either mediocre or not good at all. Miso soup, bland. Ginger salad, bland and over dressed. Fried Rice, bland and dry. Filet mignon and shrimp were horrifically over cooked 😭 Vegetables, bland. And all of this could have been remedied with the always delicious, creamy Yum Yum sauce that every other Japanese steakhouse in the country carries EXCEPT FOR Katsu-Ya 😒 Let’s just say I was a very disappointed pregnant woman who was craving a steak and shrimp hibachi dinner doused in Yum Yum sauce and was deeply let down. (We took our unwanted leftovers home after a stop at Woodman’s for some Yum Yum sauce 😬)

We visited after a recommendation to try Yakiniku. Our Sunday visit allowed us to get reservations, so I am curious how long the wait would be on a Friday or Saturday as they do not take reservations those days. My initial impressions reminded me of the old location, but I did not remember it being quite so dark. Our booth seats left us with sore backs after our meal, as it left us leaning forward due to the seat backs being so deep/almost non existent. Our server was great, although she seemed to be the only one attending the entire area during our visit. She was working her butt of yet was pleasant and polite. That being said we noticed 3 hosts just hanging out in the front, a better balance may be needed to help the servers. Our meal was good, the grill had a learning curve. It seemed to be getting a draft from somewhere that left the flames being pushed to one side. This left one side ice cold and the other extremely hot, we had to find the sweet spot. The cuts of meat we received were good. Our sushi we ordered was very fresh and visually appealing. First word out of both of our mouths was, awesome. We clumsily ate our sushi with the provided chop sticks before shamefully asking for a fork for our meal.

Very large place with great food. We had about an 1.5hr wait but we walked around downtown and hung at the bar while we waited. No yumyum sauce but had some mayo based spicy sauce that wasn't a bad substitute. Great show and fun staff. Good drinks for a great price.
