Sexism has no place in customer service â especially not in 2025 - This used to be our favorite bar in Appleton.
Iâm deeply disappointed by how my friend was treated at this brewery. She asked for a cider sample â something this place is known for offering â and was told âthe line is too longâ for samples. Respecting that, and being gluten-free, she ordered a water instead of risking $$ on something she might not enjoy.
Fast forward 20 minutes: her husband is in line behind two men who are given samples â with no issue, no comment about the line. When my friend (a woman) asked the bartender why the men received samples with a line and she did not, he changed his story and claimed they donât give samples before 6pm. Then, instead of answering the valid question, he became defensive and asked if she was accusing him of being sexist. She barely responded, but that didnât stop him from escalating.
Moments later, he returned to our table unprompted to close all our tabs and claimed my friend âhad enough to drinkâ â she was drinking water. Thatâs right: a sober woman calmly asking about an inconsistency got labeled as âhaving an attitudeâ and was kicked out, while the men who asked for and received samples had zero issues.
To be clear, this wasnât about cider â it was about the way women are too often dismissed, gaslit, and punished for speaking up. My friend advocated for herself and was shut down, then blamed for the bartenderâs discomfort.
This isnât just bad customer service. Itâs a textbook example of the kind of subtle sexism that women face all the...
Read moreThe beer is good. We had a rather negative experience the other dayâwe brought our dogs in and they informed us after sat down that dogs were no longer allowed.
We agreed to leave after we finished our drinks. We ordered 2 more rounds. This lady approached our table and told us we need to leave. We said we would leave as soon as we finished our drinks. She stood next to our table, arms folded. She said âIâm seriousâ a couple of times, and reiterated that âwe need to leaveâ after we had already agreed to do so. The experience was belittling and the lady was very rude. I have never experienced something like this in a brewery. Ever.
I understand the new rules are in place. There is no need to treat a longtime customer so poorly and to be rude and disrespectful in the process. I would be more discerning about giving this brewery your business. I have tried my best to be fair in this review, and I want everyone who enjoys good beer to have a fun atmosphere and enjoy it. It seems like this is changing for some...
Read moreCame here for a live music performance during Mile of Music so my review may not be exactly what you experience.
This place was great, it gives off vibes form the old era where you drank beer because the water made you sick and die, in a good way. With that I should say that this place was clean, and it was a busy weekend for them I would guarantee. Woodwork is the first descriptor for this place and details are the second. This is a place you just want to be inside at. They serve beer, and I believe water, but dont quote me on the second one. The beer was too good to get anything else. They have a load of taps that range from local fan favorites to their very own brews, I had two of their own beers and I will be excited to get back in and try some others. Every kind of beer drinker can go here and get something they enjoy.
Awesome ambience, awesome beer, awesome staff. Appleton is a better place with their business...
