I went to Razzoos on April 1st which was my birthday. This was my first time here and I was so excited to taste the food being that I’m from Louisiana and I love seafood. My friend had already been there before but it was a first for me and my sister. Upon entry, we noticed that everyone was nice and the establishment was neat and clean. After We were lead to our table we began looking at the menu. Our waiter came to take the order and I ordered shrimp and grits. (I know sometimes things may not be as expected so everywhere I go I always ask if I’m able to try something else if I do not like it before I order). The waiter said he would talk to the manager but he sure it wouldn’t be an issue. I said okay and I ordered the shrimp and grits. The food came and I was surprised by the sauce on the shrimp and grits but I kept an opened mind and I tasted it. I did not like the sauce of choice because it tasted to me like tomato paste. So I then requested a meal that my friend had which was fish ah yee. The manager came out and asked what was wrong and I told him I just didn’t like the taste of the sauce and I wanted to order the fish ah yee. I then proceeded to tell him that it was my birthday, basically insinuating that I just wanted to enjoy a good meal. He then proceeded to say “okay, whatever that’s supposed to mean” and shrugged his shoulders along with the most rudest unconcerned, uninterested, unapologetic look on his face. My whole body was filled with embarrassment, shame, hurt & uncertainty. I was so shocked by his response to where i began to question if I came to the right establishment to celebrate my birthday. I just wanted to get my food and go home at this point. I lost my appetite and that whole experience was ruined. When the manager returned with the next plate, I bagan to express how his comment made me feel as a customer and he just had this repulsive look on his face as if he just wanted to walk away. He cut me off instantly and began to say sorry if you took it that way. I explained to him as a manager you shouldn’t even let anything like that come out of your mouth. I let him know it was rude to me and that he ruined my experience and all he said was again, sorry if you took it that way, as if he just wanted me to shut up and he walked away. So I seen a different server at another table and when she was finished with her table I asked her for a Togo box. I didn’t even take a bite out of my food. This was the worst birthday experience of my life & I’m still hurt about not being able to enjoy my food or my experience. I didn’t even get an apology or anything showing genuine concern about my experience as a paying customer. People were looking and I just felt so out of place. The manager showed that he didn’t care about what just transpired, So I felt it was best for me to just...
Read moreMy family came in today for the 2 for $9.99 crawfish special and our server was Shanita. First of all - what a freakin bada** server. I come to Razzoos pretty frequently and if spectation was a sport, I'd be the spectator olympic champion bc people watching is the greatest thing since The Walking Dead season 7 episode 1 (which was the last great episode and then it went downhill from there but I digress).
I watched her get double sat with my family AND a party of 17. Nine times out of ten that would result in the smaller party feeling a bit neglected but Shanita did not let that happen. She was #1. Attentive, interactive, quick to get us our drinks, put in our order correctly & accommodated us at the same time as her other party and the rest of her section. Flawless service.
Second - the restaurant has made such a huge turn around in the last few years. Super clean, friendly service from host to server to manager, and the zydeco music was just loud enough to give that atmospheric pop any Cajun Cafe would need, but not so overwhelming that I couldn't hear my children absolutely annihilate their crawfish boil.
Which brings me to my third point - the CRAWFISH! Perfectly spiced, hot and fresh, all alive before the boil (no limp tails) and plentiful. Sometimes you get a billion small crawdads and sometimes you get 4 big ones in a pound, but we got consistently perfect sized crawfish in all 6 pounds. We get the regular for the kids but if you wanna die a little but in a good way, the firemouth is GOATed. And lastly - super happy with my hurricane rocks. Perfection as always.
Shanita - if you read this, I see you!!!! Moving and grooving, making people happy, doing your thing and doing it right. You're fantastic and I hope you love your job as much as the people that you serve love you. Thank you again!! We will be back and ask for you every time!!
Also, shout out to the manager Jeffree who clearly loves and praises his staff because he had nothing but fantastic things to say about our waitress and took the time to listen to me rave about our lunch. Great management = happy work place = less stressed staff = happy patrons.
Great job...
Read moreI’ve been going to this location my entire life, but I’ve decided to never go again. Firstly, my waitress was clueless about the specials for the day which was the Fish and Shrimp platter for $10. She told us it came with 2 fish and 3 shrimps, so we ordered 2 meals. When the food came it came with only 2 shrimps and a small handful of fries, so I informed her that the meals were lacking shrimp, so she took my plate away, I told her to leave it, and just get the manager. Manager comes, I tell him the meal is lacking shrimp, he tells me, “we don’t take meals back (which is lie), so you can pay $3.99 per shrimp or pay the regular price and I’ll bring you more shrimp and fries.” So I decided to pay the $17 for the full meal. Once it was time to the pay, the manager charged both me and my mother full price. Puzzled, my mother spoke to the waitress and she informed us that even though my mother didn’t order more food, the manager instructed her to uncharge her as well.
I informed the manager that I think it’s important for waitresses/waiters to be informed at the beginning of their shift of the specials for the day. I had to tell the waitress where the sign was located and what it said, and she still didn’t know what the meal came with, but of course the manager didn’t care and started speaking over me.
Secondly, working in the food industry you would assume the manger would know how to handle someone food, but no, he kept waving his hand and talking over our food, which is disgusting!
Thirdly, my mothered order peach lemonade (we didn’t know was an item until the waitress mentioned it). Once my mother got her drink, she realized it was lemonade with peach puree. My mother informed the waitress it didn’t taste like peach lemonade and it was bitter. The waitress told her, “it’s what you ordered”, instead of offering her something different, she offered more puree, and became upset because my mother asked for a different drink, just...
