I’m not quick to give any business a bad review especially during COVID but I really am still offended hours later about how poorly we were treated earlier today. My husband and I walked all over town today and spent lots of time and money giving the local shops a try. We stopped at this place to try the potato chips. When we went inside the hostess asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. So we said we would try 2 different kinds of hot chips to go. We ordered, paid, and tipped .Then we were told to wait outside they would bring them out. Great.. beautiful day. So far so good. Here’s where it goes to hell. They have a few metal tables and chairs out front of the business. Nobody in site.. not one customer. So we figure ok we will sit down at their tables and eat there right? WRONG. The hostess comes barreling outside and rudely says I need to sanitize these tables. We stand up and my husband says can we not eat our food we just ordered out here? Her reply... if you wanted to eat here you should have said dine in.. not take out. And I TOLD YOU to wait over there by the pole. Wait !What??? We just ordered food from your establishment and not only can we not sit here but we are being talked to that way . NO THANK YOU. I said we will never come back here ,worst customer service EVER, you are rude. We walked across the street and threw the chips in the trash . NO THANK YOU. There is a certain way to speak to your paying customers, and that’s not it. We all get it , the rules are different now. Everywhere. But there’s a certain way to speak to a customer and just a human being in general. Thank you but...
Read moreOK I ve been here to this place a lil over a year ago before Covid and it was all great. So yesterday for Mother's day my husband brought me and my 4 teenagers back .We live 2hrs away. The i.side tables were off limits due to covid but there are 2 small tables out front on the sidewalk. We made it there 10 mins before closing the greeter informed us as we walked in to order. I love the variety and quality of the chips they make for you there and variety of toppings. We had to wait only 15 mins. Out front one of the tables was finishing up so as soon as they left I had my 3 teens sit there. Then the greeter came out and said we couldn't sit there as they were going to move them inside for closing. We got our order and went 2 stores down n stood in front of a empty building to eat. What made me mad was then. The two employees came out after they closed and sat at that table for at least 30 mins to an hour smoking and chilling talking. I THOUGHT IT WAS RUDE. Especially on mothers day. We only needed it for 10 minutes. My kids would've helped carry the tables I'm for them. I will not ever be taking my family there again. So disappointing. But I'm still going back to Ashville, We will just take out money elsewhere prob. Across the street to...
Read moreMade a trip into downtown, specifically to try the wide variety of gourmet kettle chips, on the recommendation of a friend. Set in a trendy boutique strip, it was easy to find on street parking and pay the meter with an app (no change necessary). The store front is easy to find and neighborhood seems safe to walk in, at all hours. We sampled two varieties: The Americana and The Belgium Caramel, both priced at $5.50 and made fresh before your very eyes. The kettle chips are the perfect thickness to hold the assorted toppings. The Americana was good, but not at all adventurous. The bacon was sweet and crispy while the two cheeses provided a creamy tang. A single portion was more than filling. The Belgium Caramel was ridiculously delicious. Sweet potatoes, chocolate, bacon, caramel...yes, please! Boylan soft drinks are served here. If you've never tried them, order up a Birch Beer. We spent a total of $16.85 for two orders of chips and two drinks. Our cashier/server was generously tipped, as she has customer service/engagement perfected. If you're in the area, Gourmet Chip Company is a great side trip tor some noshing when...
