Overall, this was the most disappointing dining experience in all of Asheville. We did hear from some locals that this place was unreliable or hit and miss. We tried several items: meatball appetizer, focaccia bread app, pepperoni pizza, fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken, crab cakes, and chicken parmesan.

Meatballs lacked any and all flavor - just tasted like cooked meat. The sauce that came with the meatballs was just warm tomatoes - no flavor. Also served with whipped ricotta - but it tasted like whipped nothing... how is that possible?

Focaccia came out unusually dark - we make this bread at home all the time and it should be golden brown with a nice crust and soft insides. This felt like stale bread that was dry and burnt. Had no flavor of olive oil or salt like it should. The whipped something it was served with had similar no flavor.

The pizza was the only acceptable item we ate. Would recommend only getting the pizza. Thin crust and cooked in the stone hearth, which was nice.

The alfredo had no flavor and the chicken was rubbery and overcooked.

The chicken parm was massive but also lacked depth of flavor.

The crab cakes weren't bad, but again the flavor was very mild and subtle. The mustard sauce served with it was okay, but needed more. The broccoli tree trunks served with it was weird and overly fibrous, which made it gross to eat.

The drinks we ordered were okay, but the value of the meal was no worthwhile. Also our server never even asked how our food was and she was missing for the entirety of us eating our meal. With so many other places to go - this place is a...

We went here on my birthday to have some drinks and then some food afterwards. The place is very hip and bright which I like. It also has an outdoor seating area which is a plus. Upon sitting our waitress was fairly nice and offered us drinks. Right after that she asked if we were ready to order food. We told her not yet, we're drinking and would order later. Her face instantly turned annoyed and walked away. After that the service was never the same, she was barely around and when she was she was short and unfriendly. We did order one appetizer of meatballs in between (it was tasty) but her attitude was still sour.

Kaitlyn S, I sincerely apologize if you were offended that I wanted to drink first and then order food. I am sorry I took your precious table (the place was mostly empty at that time) and that you couldn't make your expected tip right away and flip the table. What were we thinking?

The food we saw being brought to the tables looked delicious, and they probably were. Unfortunately, I was not about to give one more dime to this place or waitress after being treated that way. We have nothing against the place and another server probably would have been great, this was all about our server.

We left to another establishment and gave her a tip that reflected her service. Servers and bartenders, sometimes the tip you receive from a customer isn't because they are cheap or jerks. Sometimes, it just may be your service. Tips are earned,...

The Twisted Laurel Team is absolutely perfect!!!!! Jordan and her team are amazing and her lead Eric is just as amazing. When my previous Wedding venue canceled leaving us 2 and half months to redo our wedding, the Twisted Laurel Team came in clutch. Jordan, made sure that all our doubts and worries were taken care of. Because we were out of state, Jordan and Eric( the event captain) made sure all lines of communication were covered. Emails, phone calls and even the few texts were well communicated so everyone was on the same page down to the smallest of details. By the time the day of the event, we knew the full game plan and we noticed that we had no fears leading into the Wedding.

Our food was unbelievably delicious and all our guests raved about how amazing the team was in general. The team of servers, bar tenders, and kitchen staff exceeded our expectations and have forever set the bar for what is expected elsewhere. The management team was absolutely kind in making sure there were zero concerns and helped their team succeed. It was truly oustanding.

My husband and I work in the hospitality industry, with one of the largest companies in the world so our expectations have always been high, but Twisted Laurel, Jordan and Eric easily blew those expectations out of the water. They made our event better than we could have imagined and for that we will continue to go not only for food and drinks, but also plan many events, or small...

This used to be a favorite, and it is still very good. But we are bemoaning some of the food items that are no longer on the menu. And it seems like the menu is a bit smaller. If the owners/chefs are reading this, I would love the following items brought back. 1. The calamari. You used to serve it with breaded and fried lemons. It was exquisite! 2. Your hummus used to be a trio of different types of hummus. That would be lovely if that was brought back, instead of just one type. 3. Most importantly, there is no veggie burger. You had different iterations of veggie burgers in the past. And they were some of the best in town. Please bring back some sort of veggie burger option. Back to the review: On the positive side, they have come up with some really interesting drink specials that they did not have in the past. The service is usually excellent, and everyone is very friendly. Tips on ordering: if you are a carnivore, the meatballs are excellent and almost an entire meal, even though they’re on the appetizer side. Grab some bread, and that’s a full meal. If you order the gyro and ask them to cut the pita and give you a little bit extra, you can make quite a few little pita gyro sandwiches! Go for the drink specials. We have not been disappointed in any of them. Photos are from various visits over time.

I had to come. It was only a 12 minute walk from my hotel (Element- Westin/Marriott). The reviews were great and the staff's hospitality was stellar and genuine - thank you Kaitlyn! It has beautiful open air/open door for seating, but please wait for your hostess, as she will seat you. It was really easy to make a reservation on Open Table via Google, even for one. For the food, it's a mixed bag. The Eggplant Sandwich is yuck. I couldn't bite or chew the eggplant at all. When I took the cardboard eggplant out of my mouth, it was a skinny shaved piece of the skin that was hidden under the "fried' part of the sandwich (don't get this). I ordered it with a gluten free bun which was nice and airy along with sweet potato fries and those were yummy. The server was kind enough to ask me if I was still doing okay. Since I mentioned that I didn't like it, she offered I order something else. I tried the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and let me tell you, those were delicious and just enough for one person. It's served with a spicy chili 🌶️ mayo, pecans and blue cheese. Served with fresh organic sprouts and a spoon. I would come back because of Kaitlyn and try something else.

Very modern trendy. And really appreciated how careful they were with Covid. Best I've seen in a restaurant so far handling everyone's safety. Wish I had taken pictures of our entrees! We got the Christmas Bread as an appetizer! We really wanted their Crispy Brussel Sprouts as we are huge Brussel Sprout lovers and it was the menu item that made us choose this place, but alas, they were out. Perhaps because they were so good? Anyway, our waiter apologized and recommended the Christmas Bread, and which was very good, never had anything quite like it before. My husband got the Eggplant Parm sub, which was great! But! Let. Me. Tell. You. I got the Gnocchi...and it is a small portion, and our waiter did warn us before hand that it is quite a small portion, but it WAS THE BEST GNOCCHI I HAVE EVER HAD! Oh my goodness, it melted in your mouth and oh man, I do wish there was more, but it was a hand crafted menu item. Soooo good! So really, I wanted this review to rave about the Gnocchi! Lol Waiter was great! He was also the bar tender, so wasn't over often, but we could get his attention easily.
