Food 5.0 GREAT FOOD Service 1.0 HORRIBLE SERVICE Price 2.0 $54 for ONE fish entree (A Seven dollar charge added to filet a $47 fish) without mentioning the extra cost Net Result 2.0 Music (too loud to talk without yelling) [Idea] âŚjust play a little more mellow music at a slightly lower volume and the environment would improve
Iâll go back due to food being amazing, but slightly overpriced (even for Aspen)
Fifty Four dollars for one fish ($54/one fish) entree
**update on this Seven dollar up charge (no mention by the waitress to filet the one fish) â˘â˘â˘ and I spoke kindly to the manager the following day in person⌠he refunded the seven dollars reluctantly, BUT he was/is extremely terse & very rude and his âbody languageâ and his tone.â, no wonder the wait staff is lacking as a team due to his abrupt âleadershipâ persona.
The waitress⌠âGeorgianaâ non-existent, took my drink order after 10 minutes
She was nice when she did come ⌠twice during an hour and a half
â˘â˘â˘
And after another 15 min she never came while I looked at the one beer I ordered sitting at the bar about 4ft away⌠it took 25 minutes from sitting down to receiving a. beer âŚ
The classic scenario⌠all the servers âlook busyâ, but about 10 of them (some repeat) âwalk-byâ, and not one looks that I have a plate with a napkin on it (to assist or help)⌠most (serversâŚ) seemed âunawareâ of their surroundings // as in, working together and helping each other in the âserviceââŚ
The bartenders seemed good, nice & attentive, just not (some of) the servers
Donât sit at a âhigh topâ. tThe wait staff⌠when they are walking past you (avoiding) looking at you, you donât have enough room // it is very crammed for space at the âhigh topsâ
The hostesses up front were very kind and very helpful
Whomever is in charge of the wait staff does a poor job of bringing this establishment to its potential
Whomever is the chef and the back of the restaurant (kitchen staff) is really good! Incredibly good cooking⌠the cuisine was perfectly cooked and great flavor
Again the food was excellent ⌠when it finally cameâŚâŚâŚ . . .
The Service ( IS TRULY AWFUL )
The food ( IS TRULY AWESOME )
â˘â˘â˘
I seems as there is no responses from the owner(s) to any reviews⌠seems as if they do not care ⌠it has much potential, but my be on a downhill slide due to the very...
Read moreI was debating about wether or not I wanted to write this review, but I figured I probably should. Everything about this place was fantastic, even wanted to come back until it came time to pay. Came here after hiking then having lunch and decided to get a couple drinks and some snacks. Ordered a glass of RosÊ, a cocktail, oysters, and shoestring fries. We were treated with some of the most disrespect we've ever been treated with here. After my s/o and I tried to pay for our meal, the bartender mentioned that their system can be weird with debit cards, because my s/o's card declined twice. Immediately what came to my mind is that they wanted us to pay with a credit card, which we left at home for emergencies. My debit card is currenrly lost, so all we had was my s/o's. My s/o told our bartender he would have to run across the street to draw out some cash. Our bartender immediately paused and gave us a very weird look, didn't say a word until I told her that I was staying right there. We had zero intentions to leave without paying, and wouldn't have even walked in if we didn't know we couldn't afford eating here. She seemed alright with it. After he left, I overheard a conversation with our bartender and the other male bartender. She immediately started complaining to him about us, that we didn't have a credit card. The male bartender started bragging about his AMX card. This conversation went back and forth for a couple minutes, right in front of me. I felt embarrassed, uncomfortable and completely unwelcomed because we aren't rich like every other person who lives in Aspen. Of course, I didn't say anything. Last thing I wanted to do was create a scene over something that seemed so minescule. We paid in cash and immediately left. We loved the food and the atmosphere, but after that conversation I overheard, we will definitely not be returning. Our money spends the exact same as any other well-off human being that walks through the door. Something to keep in mind if you're "regular"...
Read moreAs a seasonal visitor to Aspen, I've made it my mission to slurp down the sea's finest offerings at Clark's Oyster Bar no less than five times in the past two years. And let me tell you, each visit is like a salty symphony for the taste buds.
Now, let's talk oysters. Oh, the oysters! I practically salivate just thinking about them. Two of each, please, because why settle for just one variety when you can have them all? And let me tell you, I've never left disappointed. Clark's knows their mollusks, and they serve 'em up fresh and delicious every time.
I must confess: while the oysters still reign supreme, the same cannot be said for the rest of the menu. It pains me to say it, but over the years, I've noticed a slight decline in the quality of the entrees. Case in point: the scallops, once a highlight of the meal, were so rubbery they could've bounced right off the plate. And don't even get me started on the basque cakeâit was drier than the Sahara desert. But hey, maybe that's just my humble opinion.
Now, onto the service. If there's one thing Clark's excels at (besides oysters, of course), it's hospitality. The staff is as attentive as a seagull eyeing your beachside picnic, and they're always ready with a friendly smile and a helpful recommendation.
Word to the wise: if you want to snag a spot at Clark's, be sure to book your reservation well in advance. This place is hotter than a griddle and tables fill up faster than you can say "shuck it."
So, in conclusion, while Clark's Oyster Bar may have hit a few snags on the culinary front, it's still the go-to spot for anyone seeking a shell of a good...
