Just went for the first time yesterday and had an overall great time. Though here are some things to look out for as a first timer at Rum Pinch Brunch. My group and I was told (and seen based on Google Maps) that the place open at 12:30pm. We were the first people there and had to wait about 15 minutes to get in.Assuming the reason being was that staff was still coming in and setting up. Once we got in we found a sitting area and got some food. As a first timer we searched for a menu before hand but realized that there were only food trucks available for food. (Below are some menus of the food trucks to help anyone out) There were only three food trucks so the food choices are limited though the food that was there was good. Moving along, as mentioned we were the first to arrive because we were going based off of the time of 12:30pm we it says it is open. DO NOT get there at that time! If you are going to party the party does not actually start until about 6:00pm. If you are going to relax and mingle with a date or small group come around 4:00pm. We waited about 3 hours before other people started to show up and while we waited staff was still continuing to set up. The only perk to getting there early is fresh food, no waiting in lines, available seating, available parking (for $20), and an open dance floor to yourself. Another warning to first timers is to DRESS COMFORTABLE. I went in the middle of summer and it was extremely hot! Depending on what vibe you are looking for before you go I would say dress based off of that. Though ether way it’s Atlanta, Georgia so dress appropriately. Last warning to first timers I would suggest to pregame/ eat before coming out. The drinks and food are pricey and with drinks I believe that they are limited to what drinks they can make. This is really not a brunch place (I assumed it was based off of the name) This is a day party/club. It was great once there was a crowd there. I would definitely go again and incorporate these tips myself. Hope this...
Read moreI miss the days when it used to be a block party. as of recently when my friends and I attended the Soca de Mayo, it was nothing of the sort. to start off the review, the lines were long and there weren't any lines for those that had already reserved tickets. Secondly, the DJs play the same playlist along with "trap crap" that Atlanta native can go anywhere else to listen to. Every time they play trap crap, fights happened to break out. it really changes the frequency. rum punch is supposed to be for those that are Caribbean / Caribbean descended people that know the culture. Thirdly, they fail to follow through when to play Soca music. if anything we need a Soca knowledged DJ. Lastly they were very ill equipped when they told us to move inside the building just for them to kick us out early when nothing has started. My friends and I were highly disappointed and we came to the conclusion that we probably have outgrown rum punch since it has lost its authenticity. and it's better that in order to get a quality Caribbean Experience, that we actually attend more exclusive Caribbean festivities. rum punch is not what it used to be. it has truly lost its touch...
Read moreTo the management of the Rum Punch Brunch. I have been there on several occasions, I find that there is a need for a lot of improvement informing patrons of the changes from week to week. For such a major holiday weekend to have patrons stuck in the basement floor when the venue was not over crowded and to blame it on the fire Marshall's which wasn't even there. Is absolutely ridiculous. I figure that they were only accommodating the patrons that paid at the gate and not the ticket holder's. But if that's the case then let us know. Just be more aware and prepared as it was for soca weekend. The parking lot lot was bordered in as well where no one had to be rejected or confined to a stuffy basement in these times. Needless to say It was a waste of a beautiful evening and quite a large amount of people left passed off. I just had to take the time...
