So, I normally don't write reviews, but this just had to be talked about. Auburn Angel in the historic downtown Atlanta is a gem I don't think people have truly discovered yet. When you walk in the restaurant is breathe taking. The color scheme, the music, the mood, the vibes you feel like you're walking into a New York cafe, but with Atlanta touches it can truly excite any first-time costumer alone. Now the food what can I say is something I have never experienced before. Even though Atlanta is my home I travel a lot for corporate business, and I have to say I have come for brunch a few times loved it. Which is why i am talking about dinner service this time. The dinner menu is something like I have never seen or experienced before. Toasting a nod to southern staples and ingredients in a new upscale way. Now this isn't soul food like the things you can get down the street. This menu had stuff I haven't had sense I was a kid and made it beautiful. From the apps the Squash Seafood Blossum, Them Ribs!! Them Ribs!! and the Hoe Cakes and Collards, we could not wait for our entrees. Now before the entrees the man at the bar made me and my friends a special cocktail because they didn't carry the normal spirit of choice I usually drink. It was so good we had rounds and enjoyed. This is when the entrees came out and when i say art on a plate it was so beautiful we didn't want to eat it. I never seen a restaurant able to flip like what i said before coming here for brunch and its fun and warming to dinner when it becomes more serious about the food and the story of what this restaurant represents. Watching the chef make the food it is an open kitchen. You seeing him cooking and you can taste the love. Everything we had was amazing to the point i had to tell my business partners this maybe Atlanta's best restaurant. I was told they are working on the dessert menu, so it wasn't a lot of options yet, but we were fine. We had seen enough. I highly recommend this restaurant. I love what they are doing for not only the food culture but for this area alone. A beautiful experience in now a food desert. Trust me when i say make your reservation today!! I can't wait...
Read moreAuburn Angel may be new to the casual fine dining scene, but you certainly wouldn't be able to tell that when you eat here.
The staff and service is first class and personable. The space itself is small and friendly, featuring an open bar area with some large booths and a more private dining area with window views of some green space.
The food is phenomenal.
Beetroot tart is a must try, featuring flaky pie crust, piping hot layers of thin sliced beets and a delicate goat cheese mousse. And yes, eat the flowers, they add a wonderful herbal flavor.
The fruit salad was a bit wet for my taste, but the flavors were fresh and bright. The star of the show was, however, the Corvina. An impossibly tender and delicate whitefish fillet, cooked to perfection. This dish features an array of flavors that will leave your palate wanting more such as lemon butter and hints of tartar. This is the best fish dish I've had in recent months.
The chefs here go above and beyond to source the freshest, seasonal, and local foods. The plating itself is michilen worthy with elevated flavors and superior ingredients to match.
If you are on the fence about Auburn Angel having good food or not... it is spectacular. Definitely give this place a try for a first-class casual fine dining experience with top-notch culinary skills to match. I know this place will be in the same conversation with other michelin recognized restraunts in due time.
Thank you and looking forward to...
Read moreWent here with a group of friends and had Ana amazing time. The decor and aesthetic are so beautiful. The staff are so amazing and kind. The food tasted amazing. Parking is limited. You have to park on the street. We were told there are some pay lots in the vicinity, but we found parking on the street. It is limited, but it’s an option. When you arrive, you are greeted by a really sweet hostess. We went as soon as they opened, so we didn’t have a wait, but we had a reservation too.
Our server’s name was Greer. She took really good care of us and gave amazing suggestions. I had the Sunshyne to drink and I loved it. The bartender, Kadeem, really knows how to pour.
We sat at a cute table in the middle of the floor and also had a booth. Our party was pretty big. Their seating is so cute. Really gives a chic, upper west side vibe. I loved the plates and cutlery too. Everything here was NIIIIIICE (Tiffany Haddish voice).
Our food took a while to come out, but it was worth the wait and again we had a big party. The biscuits were homemade and tasted so good. The deviled eggs were also really good. The Big Mama was a dish that almost everyone in the group requested and they were all satisfied with their choice.
If you want good food, good service, and good vibes please come here. There are some cute photo...
