I have never in my life left a review like this, but what happened to me at this Chick-fil-A was not only unprofessional it was discriminatory, cruel, and deeply offensive.
My name is Rajai (spelled R-A-J-A-I). When placing my order in the drive-thru, the team member taking my order, Jorge, specifically asked for my name. To avoid confusion, I spelled it out clearly for him three separate times. Despite that, when I received my order, I noticed my name was printed on the bag as “RAGGY”. Moments before that, I overheard another team member chuckling and mocking that Jorge had put “Rai Gay” on the order, making a direct joke about my sexuality.
Let me be clear: this was not an innocent mistake. Jorge entered my name intentionally wrong after I spelled it out multiple times, and then another employee thought it was appropriate to laugh and repeat the slur within earshot. I was humiliated, angry, and heartbroken. I went to Chick-fil-A for food and instead left feeling targeted, degraded, and unwelcome, simply for being who I am.
I calmly asked to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, instead of properly addressing the issue, the first manager, Sa’bryiah was dismissive and attempted to excuse the behavior as a “language barrier.” That explanation does not hold weight. Jorge had no issue understanding the rest of my order. Minimizing and brushing off a situation that was blatantly discriminatory only escalated my frustration further. Rather than showing accountability Sa’bryiah walked away mid-conversation and handed me off to another manager.
Thankfully, the second manager, Tyler, handled himself more professionally and at least made an effort to de-escalate. However, at that point the damage was already done.
This was not a simple spelling mistake. This was purposeful, targeted disrespect based on my identity. Chick-fil-A promotes itself on values of respect, service, and care none of which I experienced here. Instead, I was mocked by one of your employees and dismissed by a manager who should have taken this seriously.
I am not interested in free food or gift cards. What I want is accountability, an apology, and assurance that corrective action is taken so that no other guest ever experiences the humiliation I did.
This situation was disgusting and completely...
Read moreI eat at this Chick-fil-A about 4 times a week. Really, 4 nights a week. I am that person. My meal is usually close to $20. Every night I get a side salad with 2 dressings, and 3 packets of the charred crispy bell peppers, as well as various chicken items and fries. I am there so often, I know many of the kids taking orders, and they know me. Did I mention that I've been doing this for 2+ years? And never once has anyone questioned how many condiments I order, or told me there would be an extra charge for them... But tonight, the condiment police woman was at the window, and when I told her they didn't give me everything I ordered, she told me there would be an additional charge of 50 cents PER 5oz BAG for the charred toppings. Really? Is this written on the menu board somewhere, and I missed it? Do the order takers know this? Of course not! And if you Google it, it says that Chick-fil-A is quite generous with its condiments. The girl at the window claimed to be a manager, and maybe she was, as she had on a different shirt from the rest of the crew. But she certainly doesn't know customer service. And she stood there and actually argued with me over this. How much money did they lose with her wasting time at the window and not just filling the #%$* order? And furthermore, how did she know they DIDN'T charge me already for these? That is, if it's a policy. I can't wait to go back tomorrow and order the same thing and see what happens. And yes, I know all about supply chain issues, but 50 cents per packet? When the packet is not even filled with 5 ounces of product? I know this complaint will fall on deaf ears, but customer service still exists, right? This is no way to treat a good customer. Or even a bad...
Read moreWhile I love chick fil a, I’m a little iffy about this location now, after an employee, who I am not if she was a manager or not, was super rude. I went and got a refill, and then sat back down. A short bit later she came and sat down at my table, and got on me about getting a refill, in a style like a teacher scolding an elementary school student. I felt gross, and I thought it was super rude and completely unnecessary. She claimed that the max number of refills was 3, which I had never heard before. But even if that is so, that refill was my third, so I stayed within the limit.
If I had asked to get a fourth refill then maybe it would have been different, but since that was my third, I thought what she did was just super rude, unprofessional, and unnecessary.
Of course that was my first time to hear that there is a refill limit and I have probably been to chick fil a over a thousand times, and refill limits are also just very not normal at a fast food place in America in general.
I would be very grateful if this could be addressed. In my opinion this is not something that should ever happen to an adult at a restaurant.
If the refill limit is actually a thing, then there are many ways to communicate that that are not rude and unnecessary, and in my opinion should only be done if the customer asks for a refill that’s over the limit.
Thank you for reading this, I probably wouldn’t be surprised if something like this happened at an average fast food place, but this is Chick fil a. I hope chick fil a remains strong in implementing the customer service that makes...
