I came here for lunch. It’s the location by Georgia Tech. I am a born and raised North Carolinian so Cookout was a staple for lunch or late night snack after some hanging with friends and consuming adult beverages. I went to a Cookout while here in Atlanta in the South Cobb County area. It wasn’t that great of an experience…so I haven’t been back to one in a while. Decided to give Chick-Fil-A a break today and went next door to Cookout because I was feeling nostalgic. I’m glad I went. I decided to walk inside and order. The person taking my order was very friendly and professional. Food came out nice and hot in under 5 minutes. They lots of people in the drive through and the dining area had a few people enjoying a nice lunch break. I decided to take my food back to my office. I ordered a Cookout Tray with Double Cheese burger that had grilled onions and mayo. Some onion rings, a corn dog and caramel milkshake. All under $10. I was feeling greedy so I also ordered a Cookout style hot dog (homemade chili, mustard, Cole slaw and onions. I added ketchup). Y’all this place is doing it right. Food is good! Tastes just like I got it off market st in Greensboro, NC! Great service and the food is tasty, fast and hot! My milkshake is DELICIOUS!! (I wasn’t a big fan of the onion rings. But I’m also an onion ring snub. Will get something else next time.)

I have gone back a few times since I wrote the portion of this review in the paragraph below. They are constantly out of multiple items like milkshake ingredients, chicken nuggets, or cheese bites. Every time I’ve ordered a milkshake they have not mixed it properly. Last time I had an entire half of a peach at the bottom. This time i tried the oreo shake and there are two whole oreos that were not mixed in. The line is never very fast especially later at night but at least they are open I guess. Took forever to get through the drive through line. When I finally got to the menu they were rude taking my order. I only got a milkshake and an order of cheese bites. In my opinion, they should really make their bags smaller if they are going to fill them up less than halfway with tiny pieces. You can see in the photos the laughable amount of food I received and the tiny size of the cheese bites that are mostly greasy batter. Milkshake was fine.

I use to go to this location all the time when it first opened. I stopped going because my order was wrong EVERY time. Visited yesterday for the first time in 8 years. I waited in the drive-thur for half an hour to get one milkshake and it absolutely was NOT worth the wait. I ordered a vanilla milkshake and what I received was a cup of ice cream, extremely low quality ice cream at that. It was thick so there’s that but it was just ice cream. Where’s the milk?? I should have ordered a flavour but I figured, you can’t go wrong with basic vanilla. You can, this pathetic excuse of a ‘milkshake’ didn’t even taste like vanilla. I guess if you don’t order a “fancy flavour”, the concept of milk & shake goes out the window. Also, the cashier was rude with a terrible attitude. She didn’t give me a receipt & when I asked for one, she acted like it was the biggest inconvenience of her life. Just remembered why I stopped going here. ✌🏾

Best food after a night out in Atlanta. It's fast food, so don't expect the best quality (I wouldn't go before midnight). It's simply a cheap late-night option with so many foods to choose from. I personally go for the chicken sandwich with a side of chicken wrap, chicken quesadilla, fries, or hushpuppies (and a $1 upgrade to a milkshake for the drink).

FOOD: The food is cheap. It's more focused on quantity than quality (how is a chicken wrap considered a side?), which is perfect for certain times of the day. Some of the sides haven't been what I expected, but I'm generally happy with the quantity of food, and all of it tastes great to me. I was initially disappointed by the chicken nuggets and chili as a side, because it was less than I expected, but it's still more than you can expect at other locations for the same price.

MILKSHAKE: The milkshakes are more like slightly melted ice cream. They're extremely thick and always require a spoon to eat/drink. This isn't a problem for me, because ice cream is delicious, but it might throw some people off.

OTHER: The Cook-Out on Northside Drive is the only one I have been to, so I can't compare it to the other locations in Atlanta, but the service is pretty quick, and I feel safe (there's security at night). Even with the surge of Georgia Tech students on weekend nights, the food is out soon after ordering.

This is as good as it gets for late-night food in the area (maybe other than...

at 4:15 PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2024 I visited the cookout location on Northside Drive. I ordered a large tea a hamburger with lettuce, extra ketchup, and grilled onions. When I place the order they was dead silence from the cashier. About 45 seconds later, she asked me to repeat my order. I ordered the same thing and told her what I wanted and she said that I was being rude. All I did was repeat my order and she said that I was rude. I don’t know how because I use my regular voice. I told the cashier that through the speaker. After I place the order I did not receive any response on the price nor to drive to the window. I drove up to the window because I had no response from the cashier. And at the window were two ladies. I asked which one of you took my order. The lady closest to the window who I assume was a manager or a supervisor said that it was the girl behind her. I said I wasn’t being rude. The cashier then said you were being rude. I looked at them both and drove away. I proceeded to go next-door to Chick-fil-A and happily spent the money I was going to use a cookout at Chick-fil-A. The cashier is the epitome of customer, no service, lousy service, the customer is always wrong. I do not know when the next time I will ever go to that cookout again. The cashier needs to be retrained, or terminated if she cannot treat the customer with...
