The only positive thing that I can say about this catering experience was that the woman who eventually delivered the food was very professional, helpful, and kind. The owner however, should be ashamed of himself. We placed an order that was over $300 for a surprise breakfast for a member of our staff. It was supposed to be delivered at 830am. My assistant called that morning to ensure that her delivery order was on track, and they assured her that it was. At 850 we called again and once we were able to get a person and not a voicemail, the owner said he thought it was a pickup order and that it was on its way. Annoying, but no problem. Mistakes happen. I called again 20 minutes later. He assured me that the food would be hot and it was on its way. It turns out that the driver got lost and went to the wrong location after inadvertently putting the incorrect address in the gps. The food eventually arrived over an hour late. The staff member who the surprise was a for arrived before that because we couldn't stall her anymore. The food was not cold, but it was DEFINITELY not hot. The owner sent a text offering a 10% discount on a future order. Unacceptable. I called to speak with him about it and I am still disgusted about how completely unprofessional he was. He first tried to blame Uber Eats, until realizing that he had me confused with another client. (Which he would have known if he wouldn't have cut me off while I was attempting to speak.) He was rude and disrespectful throughout and flat out said I was lying about the temperature of the food because it was on heaters. I asked him to show the same respect to me as I was showing him, but he then started yelling and asking me what I wanted. At that point, I told him to forget it and we will just consider it a learning experience.
It does not matter how good your food is if you cannot show more grace and understanding for your customers that what that man exhibited today. Particularly when WE DID NOTHING WRONG. I have NEVER been spoken to that way by any business owner. I highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs....
Read morePrior to stepping foot into this establishment I was really looking forward to tasting the food. I heard over the radio how amazing the options were and also read a few of the reviews on google so my expectations were set high.
I was a little surprised to see it was "buffet" style but not an actual all you can eat buffet, which was fine since I was really looking forward to tasting the home cooked soul food.
I ordered the fried chicken, hot wings, and collard greens. Unfortunately, the wings were pretty bad. They tasted old and meat wasn't good. My friend ordered the smothered pork chop and cabbage. She too did not enjoy her meal. She said it was pretty repulsive. I honestly don't usually try and ask for a refund for food because I understand people put time, money, and effort into something they hope will make people happy. It was just that bad.
When we tried to ask the cashier if a refund was possible she responded very rudely. She said a refund was not an option. She actually continued to "bad mouth" us with another customer at the counter. Proceeded to say "you can't try and get a refund once you've eaten all the food". Not sure if she could see what we had ate but it literally was 2 bites. I didn't even touch the corn bread. I ate 1 wing and a bite of the greens. She was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I understand she is young and maybe doesn't have a lot of training. Granted, it's not a 5 star restaurant however I too am a business owner, and you treat your business as if it is 5 star no matter what because that is your reputation.
Luckily, one of the cooks behind the buffet line saw the interaction and came to deescalate the issue. He was very professional and apologetic and offered us to try something else perhaps that we would like more. I unfortunately, did not get his name but he would be the only reason I would give Kenleys another chance.
If you are going to sell subpar food you want to at least offer above par customer service. You can't sell both. Bad service and bad food...
Read moreThis is a small cafeteria style restaurant where you place your food order and then after you get your food you walk to the register to pay. The process of placing my order was very unorganized, they didn't write my order down and after watching 4 other people who arrived after me receive their order i walked back up to the counter to find out they hadnt even began to make my order. Once i got my food the experience went further down hill. i order fried tilapia, mac n cheese, collard greens with corn bread. the sides were TERRIBLE. If a soul food place cannot manage to get mac n cheese, collard greens, nor cornbread right they need to change their specialty. I will never return to this place, this is $8 i wish i...
